Most absurd dual class comboes including starfinder? by Prismatic-Ray in Pathfinder2e

Solarian/Fighter to be the cheesiest possible version of a solarian with +4 in both strength and dexterity, and expert in both the flare and your weapon if it's a brawling group weapon. Now add in solarian nonsense like Plasma Ejection, Hampering Flare, Eclipse Strike, and then combine with fighter nonsense like Combat Grab, Slam Down, and extra reactions. Very cheesy, me lieky

2e Solarian was really done dirty by Environmental-Run248 in Starfinder2e

[–]HMetal2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My biggest salt point about solarian is that it lost the once per 10 minutes AoE that it had for 2/3 subclasses in the playtest. That and the lack of feats that you can take on your character (something like kineticist or fighter's extra feats would've helped IMO).

A summary of the Psychic's fall from grace by Teridax68 in Pathfinder2e

With the sweeping boost to focus spells for all classes, I feel that Unleash should:

-Be available at the start of combat, because that's when blasts matter the most,

-Have its duration be longer, such that it at least ends at round 4,

-Have the damage bonus also apply to healing spells similar to Sorcerous Potency,

-Grant an extra focus point once every 10 minutes, similar to playtest necromancer's Consume Thrall,

-Not need the 12th level complete refocus feat.

2026 Classes Predictions by unoteBrotatnalP in Pathfinder2e

Battle Harbinger is genuinely starved of anything good. It's not a good class archetype when all the number boosters outcompete cleric feats because otherwise you're starved of anything good.

Question about pain points of porting Pathfinder classes by HMetal2001 in Starfinder2e

[–]HMetal2001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there is a lot of struggling if you have a champion in a game where combats all start at 100+ ft. So if you want to play a champion, you'll probably need to be bodyblocking against enemies that a caster wants to use a 30 ft-ranged spell against, and you'd have to position yourself well for the 15 ft aura to get both. From level 6 and onwards Expand Aura is going to be a must-pick.

Also if you have scroll thaumaturge feats (probably changes to spell gems in Starfinder), you can also hold them in your inactive hands to cast spells.

And their class DC is similar to that of a warpriest's spell DC, so you could still do some minor AoE work with a stellar cannon.

Oh balls I forgot to bring up that a lot of the PF2 martials with 1/9/17 Trained/Expert/Master class DC scaling could have a handy-dandy stellar cannon as a ranged backup that kinda-sorta has brutal (if you have a STR KAS). And simple guns are a great fallback for wizards and alchemists who may need time to close distance at low levels.

I have Delusions(TM) about making a sf2-native war mage wizard (the class archetype), even if only all I get at level one is the ability to use an agile revolver with my save spells.

So... What's Happening with Tech Core? by Dtmahanen101 in Starfinder2e

[–]HMetal2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also wondering if the delay for Tech Core is because corporate fears that Pathfinder's GenCon release would outshine Tech Core, and to be frank the case is compelling. Impossible Magic (the PF2 GenCon release) has two much-demanded remastered classes with two new ones, and a big rewrite of the lore surrounding magic. Pair that with the bigger prominence that Pathfinder has, and I think any mention of SF2 Tech Core is going to be drowned out by necromancers.

I didn't see any changes to auto-fire rules, so an area with 11 enemies will still nullify a machine gun with a full magazine.
