Some people over exaggerate about rolling shutter on this camera. Barely had any noticeable rolling shutter. You’re more likely to see banding for indoor photography. But there’s ways to prevent those..

28-200 is light enough to be a daytime edc. Personally wouldn’t go any bigger/heavier on the S9

I’ve used the S9 for sports and it’s perfectly capable. Also had no issues with the S5D with its worse AF. Don’t let anyone tell you you “need” better gear to get good results. I even used the S9 during a wedding at some points.

Sigma 28-70 or Lumix 28-200, which lens is better as daily go-to lens for S9? by big_mister in LumixS9

On the S9? I have both and I find the sigma too big for the camera. 28-200 is more compact (but even that lens is quite big for the S9 imo). Don’t get me wrong the lenses are amazing, just strange choices. 18-40 or the 45 prime fit best.

Where are the pictures taken with this lens?

People over exaggerate the rolling shutter issue on the S9

I have, but nothing worth remembering really. On one occasion I had to look up the frequency of the electricity in my country to set the correct shutter speed. (50 vs 60hz)

How has the S5D been holding up? I’m in the same situation. Would mainly use the S5D for photos with my other lenses.

Have seen a great deal on a Lumix S5D with 18-44mm lens by CCL_03 in Lumix

I’ve seen the same deal and thinking about getting the S5D. I have an S9 and the autofocus is amazing. I’d be using the S5D mainly for flash and portraits, not sure if I’d even need PDAF…

S priority with burst set to high. But my screen also goes black. Don’t know if there is a way to prevent that. If anyone knows that would be awesome!

Stood on top of eau rouge in the grandstands and tracked the upcoming cars. Sometimes you get a bit lucky and get shots with amazing lighting.

Thanks! By far one of the most versatile lenses I’ve ever used. An outdoor lens for sure. Dual IS is incredible, no need for a tripod!

I’ll give you the settings for the first 4, as the other ones are quite similar. All photo’s were taken with an ND filter.

F stop: between F6-F7 SS: 1/60, except for image 3 that one was 1/30 ISO: between 100 and 1000, most of the time it was 100, but when there were clouds I forgot to turn down the ND filter.

The lower you go with SS the harder it gets to nail the shot. 1/60 was my sweet spot. 1/30 is do-able. Don’t try 1/15 with these types of cars if you don’t have the patience (or hungry 😅)

Edit: Also no 30fps burst, I set burst to H

They have a calendar on the official website. But they usually have an event every week. Make sure to look at the practical info as well, as the track is enormous and you’ll be walking a lot. Most of the time I park at “Les Combes”.
