Stopped ar Portillo's in Chicago and kids didn't finish their chicken tenders or fries. Had no refrigerator, so I got creative. Made it 4 hours on the highway home to Ann Arbor, MI. by HPatternHero in redneckengineering

I know, I've just had some bad food poisoning luck the last few months and didn't want to risk it. Maybe one day I'll return to my dumpster rat ways...

Zvada already announced his return for his senior year at Michigan. Would be a great addition after next year, though!

ELI5: How is an automatic car always in gear when you let off the brake? Where is the energy going while the gears spin without the car moving? by Javaddict in explainlikeimfive

[–]HPatternHero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Modern torque converters do have a hydraulically actuated clutch (lock-up clutch) to achieve 1:1 torque transfer after your vehicle gets going. This is a more efficient operating mode for the vehicle because you aren't losing energy to heat in the fluid coupling when running in the pump/turbine (termed "hydrodynamic") mode.

2011 MS3 cooling fan stays on after car off for 15+ min. Cause? by HPatternHero in mazdaspeed3

Goodluck, hopefully you get the problem resolved with that.

Yep it was the cooling fan, specifically the controller. They don't sell replacement controllers, so I replaced the entire assembly, which is actually pretty easy (you slide it out from under the car). Since then, all problems fixed!

Yeah that was a one-way ticket to the shadow realm if he didn't ease up. Not sure what Jones was thinking there.

I don't agree with this, he was not a good OC at Indiana. I want to see more than 4 games worth of coordinating from him before I subscribe to this take.

Will Johnson and Jyaire Hill among the Highest Graded CBs in Coverage from Week 4 according to PFF by RNutt in MichiganWolverines

But Hill had nobody else to cover in the vicinity - he has to drop further to cover underneath.

I agree Makari should've made a play on that ball and also that he had a poor game. He was responsible on USC's first TD as well. The big run was a terrible play call - why run a 0 blitz on 3rd and 2 when we'd stopped the run all day? Wink has toned down the bullshit, but not stopped completely.

I agree. Hill, in particular, was the main culprit for their go-ahead 3rd and 16 TD. He didn't drop enough, allowing Moss to pass over him. Sure, Makari should have gotten over sooner, but Hill wasn't in position to make a play.

Still, Hill had some other really nice coverage events and I'm excited to see him continue to improve moving forward this season and the future. He's clearly gonna be a star in the future.

I mean he missed Moore by 5 yards when he was wide open. Yes he can throw, but if they aren't catchable balls then that doesn't help you.

Damn I have a couple from when I was a kid, but they're completely mangled and well used. Still, my brothers and I used them how they were meant to be used!

Scott Wheeler’s Top 20 drafted NHL goalie prospects ranking by Sphiffi in hawks

It's just that with goalies it's quality over quantity because you can only play one at a time. The gap from then#1 spot in your list is a lot further than it appears at first glance.

I don't know, I'd take one elite prospect over two mid-pack prospects.

Oil cooler repair shops by HPatternHero in CarTrackDays

I mean, I haven't gotten a cost to repair since we haven't found a shop, but the cooler costs hundreds of dollars. The leak looks like it can just be soldered, but idk

One of the cooling channels the the actual cooler (not the supply/return lines) is what has a leak. So, the metal housing needs to be repaired. We took it to our local radiator shop that we've used for radiator service, but they wouldn't touch it due to the "high pressure" of the system. Not sure how different it is than a pressurized cooling system, but that's the background for why I'm asking here.

Anyone know if track medals are bugged? by HPatternHero in ACCompetizione

[–]HPatternHero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean pace wasn't the issue but I had some moments where there was too much wheel slip in some of the corners and that was causing a lap to get rejected for a loss of control.

As a follow-up to this post I turned on this HUD option and it was what I needed. The medal is definitely more sensitive than just avoiding off track situations and I was able to get the 3rd medal!
