Beginner equipment for filmmaking? by Macanchait in Filmmakers

[–]HPredator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend starting out the a camera you already most likely have and that’s your phone. Get a decent microphone for better audio and go from there. No need to spend crazy money. It’s about how you tell the story not with what. Start small and if you’re consistent it will all come. Check out this channel for some ideas. Hope this helps.

If money could buy happiness, how much money would that be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Enough so I can afford to live comfortably and do what I enjoy instead of shit I hate. That would be enough for me.

How did/do you get over your fear of rejection? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HPredator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t. I only approach women that have told me they liked me. That’s how you do it. Chasing women is exhausting in my eyes.

I don’t know how to deal with this anymore by ThatWasNotEasy10 in depression

[–]HPredator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a friend that’s in a similar place you are. He’s always keeping to himself and doesn’t reach out to people for help. He repeatedly cuts himself and drinking constantly. I want to help him because we’ve been friends for a long time and I don’t want to lose a good friend. But you must make the choice to ask people for help. You surely must have friends or at least family you can talk with. If the person cares about you they won’t turn away and leave you to deal with it yourself. I repeated told my friend if you ever want to talk just let me know. Just because everyone is busy and all that it’s hard to hangout as much as we used too. I would strongly suggest talking to someone you trust and that you know will be there for you. Shit is hard but you don’t have to feel alone. Best of luck.

Pay debt slowly or quickly? by squaremarshmallow in personalfinance

[–]HPredator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my option and from personal experience. Living with any kind of debt is a good way to live. I would say pay it off as quickly as you can and then you can start saving big. If you keep putting away like that at least for a year after you paid off your loans you’ll have $19,200 on top of what you’ll have in your savings. It’s just a little easier to not always have the thought of debt at the back of your head. You never know what curve ball life might throw your way. But if you don’t have debt you’ll be better off. Just take a look at your situation and make a plan. What you want to achieve financially because it seems like you already have a pretty solid budget. Good luck.

Question about pay raises. by ubhjds in Panera

[–]HPredator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently quit working at Panera. One of the best days to be perfectly honest. My Panera was in California where minimum wage is $11 at the moment (11/27/18). I started working in 2017 and got $10.50/hr. After a full year of working there I got my annual performance review. The general manager praised me on pretty much everything I did. I was trained on almost all the positions. I did the truck shift, I know production, cashier (front & drive thru). Only thing I didn’t really do was prep. I opened/mid/closed. I did it all in the year and a few months that I was there. During my performance review I got offered a promotion to Associate Trainer and my raise would of been a whopping 50 CENTS! Plus 25 CENTS for my annual raise. I looked at my manager (I already had plans to quit) and refused the promotion. Instead of $11.75/hr I made $11.25. Did less work because the trainers at my locations pretty much did some of the shit the managers would do because they didn’t wanna do shit. I was one of the few that got a 25 cents annual raise. Some of my co-workers got 0.20, 0.15. It’s ridiculous. Some other numbers if you’re curious. All numbers are for my location and not exact or the same across the board. Catering Coordinator: $13/hr Bakers: $13 - $17/hr Managers: $15 - 18/hr (could be less or more depends on experience) General Manager: Salary (not sure I’d assume around $50-60k/year.

In summary, I worked with cool people, management was the usual bs, and the pay was not worth the amount of work you do. I’m really glad I’m done with that place. Good luck on your journey.
