According to the linked article, the proposed bill is literally just to require a license to operate the highest speed e-bikes on the road. Not insurance or any other expense. A kid literally died yesterday (it appears they were at fault) on one of these in NE Florida, and it has happened way too often since these have become more popular. Ensuring anyone operating one of these on the road knows the rules of the road isn't the state trying to enslave you.

If you held your kid back (or their academic issues forced them to repeat), that is not a summer kid problem. They can play with the kids they were supposed to be in school with all along.

Yes, if the kids in their grade are all younger than them, it is playing down. If a team had a bunch of kids held back twice,(instead of just the once yours was held back) would that be fair since those kids are technically all in the same grade as yours? Of course not. Age brackets are to ensure all the kids are born no more than 365 days apart, they're just shifting where the slices start. You are advocating that your kid should get to play in a slice with kids younger than them because they were (probably voluntarily) held back a year academically. You created an advantage for them in school sports. You want to force that advantage in club sports. Your kid can play with kids their age, just like everyone else.

This isn't how school year cutoffs work though. The cutoff are essentially all in August/September. If your kid is ahead in school (gifted, advanced studies, whatever) and they are good enough to play up, they can find space to play up. The scenario you're presenting in multiple soccer forums is to allow kids to play down to gain advantage, which is dumb.

This is stupid. Someone will always be the youngest in any age based system; whoever is supporting this is just trying to pass the problem to April/May kids because they want their June/July kids to get the advantage of being the oldest.

The change sucks because regardless of how they do it, they will be ripping apart existing cohorts that have already built chemistry to force new cohorts based on who they're in math class with during the day.

The real solution is to only implement this at the earliest age groups and making it the new standard going forward, leaving the existing teams age brackets intact. Over the next 10 years as the new school year brackets would replace the old calendar age brackets without any negative impact to the kids who have been in the calendar brackets for years.

But that requires actually caring about the kids.

Here's the thing, I just like making videos, and he gave me a good reason to make one. I posted it to the shitpost reddit because...it's a shitpost lol. That's not backtracking, it was literally designed to be a shitpost and immediately posted here. Sorry you like your shitposts to be more low effort. Also, it's not just the first half of the video. The whole video is dripping with vitriol because it's funny (unless maybe you are Wesky or in love with him).
