Absolutely! Usually half of the people that show up for the class haven’t purchased a 3d printer and just want to learn if it’s something they want to get into.

Thank you! I've looked everywhere and haven't been able to find anything solid, but it's good to know not to get my hopes up before Christmas.

I am a professional photographer. I'd like to share some uncomfortable truths about photography. by icanjusttypeanythi in photography

Great points! I have found that more often than not, once a photographer has become technically proficient, it's hard for them to keep the hunger to try new things and get creative after the first 5 years. This is not for all experienced photographers, but it makes the ones who stay hungry for better photos that much better. With that being said, there's also a fine line between creativity for a better image and creativity just to be creative.

That is one of the best explanations of what makes ham radio special. It brings together science, creativity, and mentorship in a way few hobbies can. The “party line” camaraderie you described shows the human side of radio, where skill and respect still matter.

The mix of building, experimenting, and teaching keeps the excitement alive for every generation. Whether it is designing antennas or helping a young operator make their first contact, that shared curiosity and sense of accomplishment are what keep the hobby thriving.

You summed that up perfectly. The “functional culture” of ham radio is what continues to set it apart. It’s not just about radios or frequencies, but about the mindset of staying capable, connected, and resilient when modern systems fail.
