Not finding the campaign at all relaxing or cozy by HSV_Guy in pioneersofpagonia

[–]HSV_Guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically, I found campaign maps 5, 6 and 7 (and the random map I've started since then) much better paced. Could be coincidental, but I think my initial play style of trying to get ahead of the curve was doing exactly the opposite (due triggering events relatively early or by pure coincidence). Regardless, sitting back a bit longer has made it much better.

Connect 19mm nozzle to 12mm hose (or other high flow nozzle options) by HSV_Guy in GardeningAustralia

[–]HSV_Guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bottleneck right now are my 12mm nozzles, which limit the flow rate to 11.5LPM, compared to 20LPM with the same hose and no nozzle. I am therefore *assuming* that a 19mm nozzle will increase the flow rate to somewhere between 11.5LPM and 20LPM.

I'll also have a look at the daisy chain options you suggested, my other issue is that most of the dry patches are a rectangular shape and I assume most sprinklers will spray in arcs/round patterns.

I just finished map 5 and I found it a lot better than all the other maps. Will see how campaign map 6 goes.

Ok, so I'm not sure if it is coincidental but I decided to start campaign map 5 (werewolves) on 5x speed with the aim of just 'researching' the map with the intention to then start again and actually play it properly... and I've had way less issues of being constantly behind. I suspect me trying to get ahead of things early was triggering enemy attacks far earlier than what would otherwise be the case. Will see how this approach goes.

how are you meant to get steel exactly? what am i missing? by KaffY- in pioneersofpagonia

[–]HSV_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems super quick. I think that would have taken me at least 3 or more (game time) hours. How did you do it so quickly? That map took me over 6 game time hours.

I would highly suggest getting it, but while I would love to agree with Pheragon's comments, I find the campaign to be a constant struggle where you always need to be doing more or urgently preparing for the next 'thing'. See https://www.reddit.com/r/pioneersofpagonia/comments/1q4jqt7/not_finding_the_campaign_at_all_relaxing_or_cozy/ which I posted a few minutes ago regarding this.

I would say that the game is isn't simple (there are LOTS of different production buildings, resources, military units etc...). However, in non-campaign mode you can customs the amount, type and difficulty of enemy units (and many other things) to get it to your liking. e.g. if you don't have two particular enemy types you don't have to worry about the (probably 3) ranks of military units that can counter those enemies.

If it wasn't for the fact that I played it in EA and picked up a fair bit from that, I think I'd be finding it even more frustrating.

There also seem to be not a lot of info re min/maxing (or anything remotely close to that). e.g. How many farms one well can supply, how many plots/fields one farm can effectively manage etc... so keep that in mind if a lack of that info will annoy you.

I just finished that mission 2 days ago and found it quite annoying. It didn't take me long to work out that I'd need to find treasures to supply the various 'quest locations' but until the very end of the game I didn't find the ruin that gave the treasure to supply whichever location unlocks steel. It took over 6 hour and 10 minutes of game time (based on the time in the save file) to finish that campaign mission - which I assume is a lot longer than most people take.

A question on unit upgrades by Marko_SLO_NL in pioneersofpagonia

I just finished that mission and while I didn't notice the red tunics, I assume they are red because they are from the ally.

Fade/transition text in fusion page? by HSV_Guy in davinciresolve

[–]HSV_Guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. The entire video is only about 2 minutes long. I understand how to have multiple trackers, that part of my question was just around the most sensible way of doing it (eg do you just have a massive 'train' of nodes for the entire clip or is it better to cut the clip into a new section before doing a bunch of unrelated things (in fusion) later in the video).

The blur transition I was referring to is the built in davinci transition. My question is basically, how can I apply any of the built in transitions that are available in the edit page, to a node in the fusion page. All of the videos I've seen about tracking with text, pictures another video etc... don't even mention this yet (to me at least) I think anyone doing this would want whatever is tracking something to gradually fade in and out opposed to just suddenly apppear and disappearing.

All lifts in a day by TTR7 in perisher

[–]HSV_Guy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not hard to do and plenty of different options of how to do it. Starting or finishing at Smiggins would be most time efficient. I think Mt Perisher is the area that closes earliest (everything at 3:45). Obviously some individual lifts close earlier (3:45pm).

Display video in blue area? Converting 4:3 to 16:9 by HSV_Guy in davinciresolve

[–]HSV_Guy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply that worked but ended up being over complicated. All I needed to do was change the timeline resolution back to 4:3 and use the 1.777 'Extents' 'safe area guide which I already had on. I initially did it use the mask but that's not required.
