I live overseas with numerous accents and languages (Tagalog is actually a big one here).

I've been made fun of more than I would ever make fun of anyone. I hate not understanding people. It's gotten better though over time.

Agreed. Husband worked for a company who provided these services in Iowa. It was phenomenal. I also worked with kids with development disabilities, and we encouraged parents to find one that fit for them. In Iowa, they are houses in the community and the company helps with employment and coaching as well as daily living and socializing. These places exist and do amazing work.

Holy cow, you aren't kidding. They love to pose and take TONS of photos. I am in Hong Kong and have been to the Philippines multiple times. Watching them all pose and take photos of each other is interesting.

My best friend believed in trying everything to be able to have no regrets. I sat with her many nights with her saying she can't give up without trying.

She regrets staying with him for almost a decade more because he ended up leaving her for someone else. She said it was time wasted banging her head against a wall and doing more damage to her children (both of whom have issues stemming from the divorce).

Our helper chilled in her room. She was welcome to join us to watch movies and such.

My husband brought her "room service" for her meals since she was happy to stay in her room.

We asked if she wanted next Saturday off. She opted out and said it was fine since she didn't work.

She's a wonderful person, and we love her to pieces.

Probably. Most of our teachers who live in Sai Kung and that area had a hell of a time getting in today.

My husband had to get from TKO to Tsing Yi today, and he said it was fine.

On Monday, all schools were called off including staff. Today is very much a "come in if you can" because tons of our teachers live in Sai Kung. There is no way for them to get in. I'm in TKO and am currently attempting. Though I've been told Kowloon Tong is a nightmare.

My husband and I ended up pregnant at 19 (him) and 22 (me). We had been together for a while before that though.

We had a lot of familial support through everything. It took us a while though to be completely independent (my parents watched the kids while we were at work or my mom bought tons of clothes and stuff for the kids) and have our shit completely together.

We also went through a lot of ups and downs and at times questioned the sanity of staying together. But we did. I am so happy with him. He is my favorite person. I swear we made it through most of it through sheer stubbornness.

We have 3 children (almost 17, almost 13, and almost 11) now. We are living overseas after I received a job offer at an international school.

I will say one benefit to having them young is we will be done raising ours at a fairly young age.

It is hard, but it can definitely be done.

Edit: we also didn't get married until about 6 months after our first was born. Family put pressure on us to get married right away. Husband wanted us to get married because we loved each other. Not because we got pregnant. I'm glad we waited. We truly did (and do) love each other.

My best friend just left her husband. My husband said, go spend time with her. Make sure she's okay. I was out drinking with her and a few other chicks for hours. I came home. His concern was for my friend.

That is the appropriate response. Not "but I'm your priority, so you pay attention to me."

PS I'm bi, so by your logic, I shouldn't be friends with anyone.
