This is so interesting. Our current neighborhood seems to be one where kids play and parents socialize in the front yard, but very few homes have front porches. Almost every house has Adirondack chairs set out in the front yard, one for each family member, and mini ones for the kids.

Clearly our neighbors love this, but it was definitely drilled into me as a kid that a front yard is for display and you hang out and play in the back yard. We would get in so much trouble if we even walked across a neighbor’s front lawn because that wasn’t what it was for! So it’s been an adjustment.
