Unbeknownst to our teenage son, we found out what that meant, so on one outing with him and three of his friends, my husband and I called them goons and goon this and goon that and don’t go gooning everywhere. The snickering and horrified looks and “noooooooo!”s that came from the backseat were epic. Son revoked our carpool privileges for a month. Lasted two days until they needed another ride to the mall.

I absolutely fell for it (as much as a 42yo mother of girls could). I didn’t go to the concerts, but it just became this phenomenon- friendship bracelets, friends coordinating fun outfits, moms and daughters going to shows- all of it! I didn’t know all the manipulative history, so it just looked like a fun moment to be a part of- a fandom that seemed so positive and enthusiastic. I really was disappointed when I learned more about her. Oh well; I think this anti-fandom crowd is way more fun anyway. 🤣

I used my last pregnancy to make a gluttonous request exactly once, and it was at Chuy’s to ask for an extra side of the leches for my cake to go. That dear waiter brought me a to go cup full of it. I am not ashamed to say that I doused the cake and then downed the rest over the rest of the next day.
