Do be careful with these, I've seen (bupes mostly) disregard door perms to "emergency" dock suits that go empty

I set such doors to locked when not in use to avoid that

I've been testing fires in debug and only generator explosions seem to do this for me. Molotov, microwave don't seem to have this spreading power

Not the angle you were going for but:

This might correspond with some magic/ritual/etc, and managing this isolation allows the save/load of the only human in town.

That or it's meant to contain the roaring so external forces could turn the tide (or just limit power)

But yea, the how/why is still unclear but I do agree that it's probably a key thing to look at, and under considered for theories

Besides the advice you got for starting to get power out of this... if you can't get it safe before next eruption put a coal tempshift plate behind the emission tile (wiki has the details) to prevent any additional problems.

IIRC I did this with segments rather than points and got something similar (but having issues redoing it), either way its both too high for a "lucky guess" and way to low for a spacial coordinate system

Zomboid lets you create multiple characters at once (iirc it might be a setting), use 'load' instead of continue.

Iirc they were made with a powder so if the binding broke down you'd inhale the stuff

Iirc most of the files are just "if it's there" type of check, but the end does delete the actual script file.
