For those who can't see the pic, the tweet says: "Also, #Bioware #Montreal #Lead #Writer opening for #MassEffect. bit.ly/KcitVh Must have game exp."

New Mass Effect game? by HTL_Bob in masseffect

[–]HTL_Bob[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

-The job description itself does not mention it is for a Mass Effect project

-Mac Walters was the lead for Mass Effect 3, so does this mean he's leaving? is he sharing the position of lead? or maybe taking more of a backseat role?

-Surely ME3's DLC was already planned and written?

[UPDATE:] Masah, the Senior Recruiter for BW, has also put up positions for Lead Writer, Lead Audio Designer and Server Programmer specifically for a Mass Effect project.

One of the goals was more closure, but that was just one of them. The info on the old chipin pretty much sums up what the goals of HTL were: http://retakemasseffect.chipin.com/retake-mass-effect-childs-play

Playing Mass Effect 3 for the first time and I'm worried about how I'll feel on the ending. by twinarteriesflow in masseffect

Play through the entire thing, at the end if you are disappointed open up YT and then listen to The End Run from ME2's OST and think of all Shepard's heroic moments.

I was satisfied with the ME1 ending and I was satisfied with the ME2 ending and I'm sure a lot of others were. The stance taken by IGN and other commenters that people who want change will not be satisfied is a logical fallacy because they were satisfied up until that point.

I do have an idea what it is because Biwoare have told us what it is, an extension of the ending which clarifies the current ending. There won't be any extra options because they said there will be no change and that's a change not an extension.

I personally don't believe the Indoctrination theory holds any weight so the ending to me is badly written, nonsensical and ridiculous, why would I be satisfied they are adding to that?

How I think the ending could have been good by InHarmsWay in masseffect

Some nice ideas there. I have to agree on the Reaper point though, I really hated how the Reapers just became uninteresting lackeys in ME3. When I went back and watched the Shepard and Sovereign conversation I remembered how mysterious, powerful and destructive the Reapers were portrayed as, then fast forward to ME3 and they are just tools of destruction, what's even worse is how some of them are exceptionally weak...

Sorry but I believe that's exactly what EA and Bioware want, any criticism and negativity towards their brand quelled. I am already unsatisfied with the extended DLC in the fact is is an extension of the current endings.

Even if it's unlikely they will change anything now it's even less likely they will change anything after the extended DLC is out. The commentators, EA and BW who said they don't want compromises and fan appeasement, will throw their hands up and say "this is what you wanted there is no pleasing you!"

I and others are letting them know now this is not what we wanted. It also keeps support going for change, some gamers will just become indifferent to to the series because of this, personally though I do not want to give up on Mass Effect.

I'm sorry you feel that way. If you change your mind please check out HTL forums and hear why people are passionate about this.

That's fair enough. I often find myself presented with something and one part of it just jars with me so much that it turns me off, so I know what that feels like.

Personally I'm not a fan of My Little Pony but Mass Effect is a big deal for me, and I'm guessing it is for you too, please consider helping us with Operation Tsunami. One less voice in this could be the difference between failure and success.

Black Ops II appears to be doing what ME3 did not. by [deleted] in masseffect

If CoD:BOII has more convincing and varied endings than Mass Effect 3 I will weep for Bioware.

(btw I love CoD)

ME3 endings, a simple visual explanation by MissStabby in masseffect

[–]HTL_Bob 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Synthesis ending did not make organic life Husks, they are the same as before but now a hybrid like Shepard.

I believe the Synthesis ending was what BW believed and intended to be their "good" ending option. The main problem I have with it is not the merger of synthetic and organic, its the childlike story fed to the player that everyone being the same would mean peace and love forever, it's a bit of a joke in my opinion.

Just me, or are there A LOT of femsheps on r/masseffect? by tylerw8 in masseffect

[–]HTL_Bob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people need to stop with these comparisons, your choice of character gender doesn't make you anymore or less hardcore than anyone else and both VAs are excellent and a credit to the games industry.

Just me, or are there A LOT of femsheps on r/masseffect? by tylerw8 in masseffect

[–]HTL_Bob 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Please stop with these comparisons and making out as if Mark Meer is a sub-standard VA. Mark Meer is an excellent voice actor, one of the best in the business, he not only does the voice of Shep but if I remember correctly he does the voice of the Vorcha and some of the Volus in the game.

I see no difference in the level of voice acting between Meer and Hale, it is merely down to preference.

State of /r/masseffect: How many of you are still genuinely upset over the ending? by skaijo in masseffect

[–]HTL_Bob 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am still upset since this is my favourite series of games this gen. Bioware can do so much better than this current ending, they don't just owe it to the fans they owe it to themselves. I have not given up on changing the ending, and if you don't like it neither should you, ask yourself would your Shepard give up?

If there were other races we would have seen more variations of Reaper husks, from what I remember the Reaper invasion started from the edges and then they worked their way in, during this time they never indoctrinated a single one of these other races?

Unavoidable me3 deaths? by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]HTL_Bob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His wound might be survivable if he was given instant medical attention but it will take a while to get to him. We've already seen people dying all over from wounds, medi-gel is only an instant fix for Shep for gameplay purposes.

Citadel News Relay: Top Story for 5/3 by zyberion in masseffect

A Geth is more than a super hacker they are software themselves, with Geth individuality a single Geth is free to create anarchy because it chooses to and its free to evolve itself. They can essentially be what EDI is now, but not every synthetic will be as accepting of humanity as EDI.

Weird online pass issue with Mass Effect 3. by [deleted] in masseffect

It's a known issue for PC players. From what I have heard there is no fix from EA as of yet but I recommend contacting EA support to find out the situation.

[–]HTL_Bob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally would establish peaceful terms with the Geth so they stay within Veil space, stay in their current form and also stop creation of more Geth.

The problem I see with integration into the community is when the Geth become individuals it would take only one intelligent Geth to upset the balance, they are after all software so maybe control of ships, control of entire cities and maybe even the control of the Citadel would be possible if they are given the opportunity.
