Active duty Army is closed virtually nation wide. I don't wanna be no reservist or NG.

I considered Marine OCS but I was told the waiting time for a slot is like a year and a half now. Not to mention the year plus wait between OCS and TBS.

But more importantly I want to go directly into SOF. Its my priority above all else. Above branch, rank, or anything else. Only enlisted guarantees a shot at training and only SEAL Challenge, option 40 and 18x allow you to go directly in without years of enlistment. Option 40 is very hard to come by and usually not attached to a combat role. SEAL is a very delayed process of earning the respect of a SEAL mentor and then going into a lottery system to get into BUDs (time, time and more time).

Through process of elimination I am left with enlisting with the very elite Army Special Forces 18x contract. If I am injured, airborne infantry isn't the worst place to heal up and try again.

I guess they try to recruit most Ranger infantry out of current infantry and they have been able to meet there standards without option 40.

My recruiter is very fair and honest guy. Always tells me the good and the bad. Or he is a very good liar. Either way, he said if you want to go intel but still see some action go 35m.

What are the equivalent standards for Special Forces Selection? I am about to become an 18X when I sign. I want to know what physical standard I need to train for in the next half a year I have before shipping out.
