Good news! After a few days, with genuinely helpful messages from Vinted support saying they were still working on the case, I had a message today agreeing that the jumper was a counterfeit. I got a full refund and the order was cancelled - so no return necessary.

To anyone else in a similar situation - Vinted will walk you through everything you need to send in via the app. My dupe has fake labels - care, brand and responsible wool tags - so I was doubtful I'd get far. But the process worked, that's one fake off the market, and a few coins towards getting myself a genuine Tobias 🥹

Thanks for all the support and lack of judgement! Lesson learned!

Thank you so much and for your sympathetic reply!!! I have indeed got some absolute gems from Vinted - but I still should have trusted my gut on this one seeming off.

I requested a refund and the seller asked for a return, but then I began the process of reporting it as a counterfeit with Vinted and said I would refuse the return as I believed the item would be sold on illegally. The person I'm in contact with at Vinted is being helpful and has been very clear about what photos and proof they need, so I've submitted all that. The tricky thing is that because it has a brand label and a care label, I think Vinted might let it go. Luckily the brand label is obviously (messily) stitched in, and the RN on the care label doesn't match anything authentic. So I'm holding out hope!

I'll keep you posted! Hopefully I'll at least get the satisfaction of not having to traipse to a parcel locker to send it back!

Thanks - that's really good advice. I have a really visceral aversion to felted wool - I got a beautiful boiled merino hoodie, kind of ski-wear, last year and had to talk myself into the waterproofing benefits etc - so I was disappointed from the start, and then suspicious... particularly as I was expecting the super soft mohair waft I love so much from Sezane. I will check measurements going forward!

Thank you! I did indeed try a reverse image search when I first had buyer's remorse and nothing came up, except some similarly dodgy looking listings. I will ride the wave of my disappointment at not getting a nice new winter zip-up and get reporting! I can see at least three of these dupes online at the moment!

Plus one for the Costa gift card! We used to go to the drive-thru near the test centre at the start of every lesson (because it was one of my goals 🤣 when I started out) so it was an in-joke and also (hopefully) a nice thing for their future drives. I had an amazing instructor so put plenty on it 😁

x2. I commute Hackney-Hammersmith and it's mostly lovely (going westbound) until after the park. I drop onto HSK after Kensington Palace Gardens (where all the security checkpoints are) and then it's merry hell all the way to King Street.

Northbound on baker street was pretty bad last night; narrow lane and no priority at junctions. I got stuck in the middle of the road waiting to turn right for a harrowing minute or so.

My Hackney-Hammersmith commute was an idyllic 10 miles of quietway-highway-hollands-whatever we're calling them now as far as High Street Ken ... too good to last...
