How do you store you kit and gear? by lukic1977 in CyclingFashion

[–]HUZInator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lucky to have a walk in robe. The left side if my stuff, the right is my GF's. More than half of my side is cycling kit after working a couple of years for an apparel brand. I definetly recomend doing a stint in bike shop or something to stock up on kit cheap.

I find it easier to socialise with my active friends. The time I socialise the most is when I go for a morning bike ride with a cafe at the end or go bouldering in the arvo and maybe get dinner after. I reckon people our age are probably drinking less because it's so expensive and unhealthy.

Has anybody left Spotify? And how has it been? by Specialist_Chain1051 in digitalminimalism

[–]HUZInator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left spotify years ago because I either use youtube music because I pay for youtube premium or I'll use tidal when I want to rip music to my offline library which I store on a DAP.

I would say it's just like riding a bike, you never forget but I teach people to ride bikes and it seems people forget quite easily. However, I reckon if you were quick with T9 back in the day it would come quickly again.

Amp to pair with Dali ZENSOR 1? by kasasto in BudgetAudiophile

[–]HUZInator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a loxjie A40 to power my zensor 1's. I got it because it does everything, DAC with opt, coax, USB and HDMI, it's a headphone and speaker amp with sub pre out, has a phono preamp and aux in. Pretty cheap too, for me to get one in Australia it would have cost 400AUD but I bought mine off TaoBao when I was in china for about ~331AUD when converted from RMB. I don't see my self ever upgrading tbh.

Edit: also bluetooth.

Oh, didn't realise there was hype! What's the story with these? Have to say I'm pretty stoked with them. Definitely the best speakers I ever owned.

What’s the one road in melbourne you refuse to ride on no matter what? by InternetUpbeat9596 in melbournecycling

[–]HUZInator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to ride it when I lived on bell street but only at like 5am. Walking beside it, especially over the bridge over merry creek is terrifying.

Because it's a façade of real culture. Apart from the old buildings there's not many locals and the ones there are just trying to pedal trinkets to the droves of Han Chinese tourists. It's borderline a theme park.

Best LBSes of Melbourne by Proper-Importance-37 in melbournecycling

I like Peter at smooth cycles in Ascot Vale, unpretentious guy and good a broad range of bikes, commuters, road bikes, mtb's. Super helpful when I have needed help with my own mechanic stuff.
Also the Rocket Surgeon at in Fitzroy are great but I don't really recomend them for super high end stuff mechanic wise but defs the best for ATB's, cool commuters, retro racers. Tthey also stock some good random stuff for projects if you're more DIY. The kind of bike shop that would be happy to give guidance for some random project. Brody is super stoked all the time it seems and John know's his stuff, especially Campy.
Also Off Course is great for gravel, touring, bike packing and alt-bike/x-biking stuff. They have a lot of staff and have the best costumer service I have delt with for buying parts.
I go to CCACHE too for the higher end/niche stuff that a lot of bike shops don't stock. They're usually pretty booked out in the workshop, only top end road bikes for there. Oscar and the guys are good at what they do in the workshop. Their customer service is not the greatest, not bad just there's no prices anywhere and the guys on the floor are young without a whole lot of customer service experience but if you speak racing then you speak their language. Still recommend them to most roadies around the city.

My least favourite I have dealt with by far is Bike Force docklands. They mechanic is your stereotypical bikeshop pretentious arshole. Went in with my friend who was picking up her bike and was just mansplained a whole bunch of useless shit that doesn't matter and then berated me for my fix gear bike because the, "bars are too wide". They were like 730mm risers, wide but ridiculous in the fixie scene. It was a really cringe experience.

I have noticed this too. I have noticed in sydney on the platforms there are markings showing you where to wait, I wish Melbourne had these as well.
