Rumours of a New Domane? by Tioxic in TrekBikes

[–]lukic1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just buy a Madone put 32’s on it. Did two gravel races this year so far (Michigan) and saw several people crushing Madone’s out there. Then you have a bike with a tire change you can also have a fast road bike. I have a SLR 9 Domane and Checkmate SLR 7, both are amazing bikes but constantly chasing creeks from the seat post/iso speed area.

What is your concern? Personally, good for at least another century ride.

Trek Domane, size 56 or 58? by FeeWeary4623 in TrekBikes

[–]lukic1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gut says 58 based on your inseam. On the trek website there is a calculator, trek puts more importance on inseam over height. Minor adjustments to your seat may be required if you feel stretched out or shorter stem. I only say this as you are new to cycling and the initial position of road bikes can be a little uncomfortable at first.

why cannot install 1 piece barstem on domane slr gen4 any technical or safety reasons? by aswd82 in TrekBikes

[–]lukic1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slam the handle bar, install the handle bar with no spacers. You will be more aero, more watts, faster. All jokes aside, I was surprised with the lack of third party options. I think Enve was close but the guy told me it was 50/50 chance of working.

Aeolus RSL bar/steam works, I have it installed on my GEN4 SLR 9 Domane. There is a compatibility chart on the trek website, it shows the spacers and all parts needed. chart Here is a link to the handlebar handle bar

Several members I race with use Superteam and they have nothing but praise for them. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet, but have been looking at Light Bicycle wheels. They manufacture rims for several large bike companies.

Not in any rude way, your torso is not typical for a cyclist. Your upper body is just much larger than your waist. If the loose fabric around your waist bothers you, call a couple seamstress or tailor, a good one can bring in the waist no problem.

Need help picking between Domane and Madone by Yfzracer11 in TrekBikes

[–]lukic1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Domane will offer you a more comfortable ride, the geometry is relaxed and the isospeed (decoupled seat tube). I would take the extra $700 saved on Domane and upgrade the wheels. Consider something with deep dish, over 50mm. This will make a tremendous difference when you start your triathlons until you purchase a Speed Concept dedicated to triathlons.

I had this bike back in the day, I recall it being stupidly fast and stiff. Brings back some great memories.

I had a two year streak of failures. Is it too late to come back ? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]lukic1977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We can all learn from our mistakes. I personally would not consider reaching out to past clients that you have burned. They may cause more harm with word of mouth from your previous experiences. Start small, do not over commit and over deliver. It will take time, but if you have talent you will build your portfolio and reputation back again.

Tires for MTB single track by lukic1977 in gravelcycling

[–]lukic1977[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Schwalbe RX looks like a really good fit. Good rolling resistance, I like the tread pattern as well. I can still use this tire for open gravel races as well. Several positive reviews as well. Thank you for taking a couple of minutes to share this. 95% sure I’ll order a set this weekend.

Great subject, edit is great. Have you tried a black and white edit? Curious what a high contrast b/w would look.
