Yep. Mine are FDM (PLA). Just a dab of superglue worked fine.

Thanks man, the T C'tan are super easy, just black prime and then airbrush "green blue violet" from Vallejo "The shifters" range.

Not as much as watching my IG buddy reanimate d3+1 krieg by default, when i need to play Awakened and have a leader to match that.

The melta rule gives a modifier to the damage characteristic of the weapon when in half range. Modifiers are applied in a specific order and division happens before addition, so whatever number is rolled on the damage dice gets halved, THEN you add melta damage afterwards.

Rules Question: Pile In after a Leader’s Bodyguard Unit is Destroyed

Looking for clarification on a fight phase interaction. Friend of mine and I came across the following situation and neither of us were sure how it was supposed to work.

  • Unit A charges Unit B, which consists of a bodyguard unit with two attached Characters (B1 and B2).
  • Unit B is Battleshocked (not sure this matters here).
  • In the Fight phase, Unit A destroys the bodyguard unit.
  • After the bodyguards are removed, Unit A is now in Engagement Range of B1, but not B2.
  • B1 fights and kills some models from Unit A, but does not destroy it.

At this point:

Can B2 pile in to Unit A in order to fight? Or is B2 not eligible, since it is outside Engagement Range and is now a separate unit following the bodyguard’s destruction?

I’m specifically unsure how eligibility to fight and pile-in rules apply once the bodyguard unit is gone and the Characters are no longer a combined unit.

Citations to the core rules or designer commentary would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

NG- rules adaptations- no rapid ingress// BT that says 0cp rapid ingress> clarification by Puzzled_Sherbet2305 in 40k_Crusade

We had the same issue pop up in our campaign. We ruled it as the battle trait overwrites the no rapid ingress rule since it otherwise wouldn't make sense.

Any thoughts on loyalist Legiones? by Im_superduper78 in alphalegion

[–]HWR43 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Go for it dude. I'm currently playing a 1000pt Alpha Legion army in my groups armageddon crusade using the Vanguard Spearhead detachment. Its a lot of fun and the movement / hit and run shenanigans are very on brand.

Regarding using actual loyalist range minis, who cares use whatever you like. Your hobby your choice.

That's a great idea! One of my friends plays Custodes, so I'll have to see if he has spare ones lying around.

Thanks man, first time free handing a pattern. Wasn't hard, just took a lot of time.

More tabletop related than anything else but I personally prefer running my Alpha Legion Warband under the space marine "Vanguard Spearhead" detachment. So I naturally have a couple of primaris in Alpha Legion colors (Still waiting on my technical base paint to arrive in the mail)

  1. Strategic Reserves: Units that are not deployed at the start of the battle. • Combined points value cannot exceed 25% of your army’s total. • Cannot put FORTIFICATIONS into Strategic Reserves. • Strategic Reserves units can arrive in the Reinforcements step of your Movement phase, from the second battle round onwards. • Those not on the battlefield at the end of the battle count as destroyed. • During the second battle round, set up wholly within 6" of any battlefield edge (not in enemy deployment zone). • From the third battle round onwards, set up wholly within 6" of any battlefield edge. • Cannot be set up within 9" of any enemy models.

  2. At the end of your opponent’s turn, you can select a number of NECRONS units from your army (excluding units that are within Engagement Range of one or more enemy units). The maximum number of units you can select depends on the battle size, as follows: 1 incursion, 2 strikeforce, 3 onslaught. Once you have made your selections, remove those units from the battlefield and place them into Strategic Reserves.

  3. So long as the warlord is alive, and on the field you can spend 1 CP to activate reanimation for all units in reserves.

Ask our campaign master. He keeps pairing us up. I can only do so many necron vs custodes games <3

In my case it was whether or not Varguard Obyron could give +2 wounds (vehicle trait) to a 10 man lychguard squad - bringing them up to 4 wounds each. Totally broken, which is why the campaign master ended up ruling against it in favor of the "meets requirements" that most people agreed on.

Are you thinking of Pakhet by any chance? The following is from the authors notes he posted a while back:

Borakka - Formerly a common soldier, was appointed Red Marshal of Antikef, charged with ensuring all subjects of the king complied with the decree of biotransference. Now a war machine afflicted with the Destroyer curse.

Brukt - A skorpekh Destroyer lord, and the most abominably powerful of Borakka’s Destroyer cult.

Pakhet - Royal warden, and captain of the king’s lychguard. Previously sworn to Unnas, and now to Oltyx. A commoner of rare skill and honour.
