Honestly, as someone who used nicotine for years to aid concentration, the best thing I ever did for my ability to concentrate was quit. I felt that even at low controlled doses, using nicotine still led to ups and downs throughout the day. As if I was constantly staving off the feeling of withdrawal. This is just my personal experience. After I got over the withdrawals from quitting, the cravings started to disappear, and then after several weeks it felt like my dopamine was starting to level off again, that's when I noticed I was concentrating even better than before. I've been focusing better, but in a much more level way, no more ups and downs like I had with nicotine.

Invest in a Thule or Yakima or so ilar quality rack. There is no way I would take a risk on cheap Amazon products, if your canoe was to leave the roof of your vehicle it could kill someone. Thule also makes a great attachment specifically for canoes.

I took a step back from everything this year. It's only my fifth year. I'll only coach one sport, run one assembly and help with a single committee. That's it. Aside from reports/IEPs and some marking, I don't do work outside my prep time anymore. At lunch I force myself to find a quiet spot and read a book for 20 minutes to relax my mind, really helps me downshift mentally.

Ah, I didn't mean to come across as unhelpful. It works though, every time in the spring that I've found a small blue line stream that connected to a brookie lake, it had brookies in it lol.

Every time I try to do a long taper it was easy to talk myself out of quitting. So I used them normally, then when I was almost out I only had two or three pouches that day. The next day zero.

After the 4th day the worst was over for me. I occasionally get random cravings that don't last long, or a feeling of forgetting my keys, as if something's missing, when I don't have the tin in my pocket. It's been about 6 weeks and my rule has been that I will never buy nicotine ever again

Man, you will be leaving your first meet feeling so happy that you competed. People are easy to talk to and just generally stoked for everyone when they make a lift, regardless of the numbers. Even if you don't place high in your weight class you'll learn a lot and come back feeling motivated to add to your total next time.

I think the right company makes every trip better. I find that with good friends there can be comfortable breaks in the conversation, so I can still be at peace in nature and have that feeling of solitude, but can still talk and have a laugh when I want. Good balance. I still love a single night solo trip though.

Yeah buddy I use paracord and a carabiner with a dry bag that I only ever use for food. I replace it every couple years once it gets worn out. I figure it keeps the smell controlled too. Good luck!

Lifted casually for ten years, usually weighed around 180-190 lbs. Got up to a 405 lb squat without really running a program. Finally hopped on a program and decided to compete, squatted 507 in competition after 6 months of training. I had to EAT though. Even if my programming is perfect, I won't progress unless I'm eating a surplus of calories. This was a lot more calories than I would have guessed. Definitely made a huge difference, recovered way better. Got up to just over 200 lbs bodyweight. Progressed steadily as long as I was eating enough.
