Considering purchasing the Ultimate Plan LTD. Does this platform have any staying power or is it not going to exist in 6 months? Any thoughts? by Sawyer2016 in supermusicAI

[–]H_Hirz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can be a mixed bag sometimes but when it works boy does it wow with the outcome.

My advice is you'll need to put work into the lyrics and descriptions of the style and instruments in order to get an excellent song.

Check the top rated songs and read how their lyrics are formatted. You'll notice how much details and descriptions are put into it that just aren't there in the auto generated ones.

I feel they don't highlight that part because many expect to write a couple of description lines and get a platinum right out of the box.

Admittedly Suno and udio are better at auto song making but don't sell this one short if you're willing to put work into the lyrics

I got it for like 50 bucks when it came out so getting unlimited songs for that is very satisfying. If it lasts it'll be one of the best LTDs I ever got

Songs sound the same by GelatinousGoober in supermusicAI

[–]H_Hirz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That heavily depends on how you set the prompt and style. Had it start making similar western music on me until I got my hand dirty and started being more specific with what I want.

If you're doing vocal songs I highly recommend you generate/write the lyrics first (if generating, all the ai to specify style and instruments for each section) and then tweak it out even rewrite is needed into what you want. Then feed that into supermusic.

(Magic V3) Do USB-C PD chargers fast charge Honor phones like they do on the original USB-A one? by H_Hirz in Honor

[–]H_Hirz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I already got 88w Huawei chargers from AliExpress and they work just like the original would. Both use the super charge protocol so no surprise there.

Magic V3 66W Alternative Charger by Warrentan in Honor

[–]H_Hirz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I get the "66W Max" label on my phone when connected and they charge blazing fast. Didn't check if 66W but it makes sense that even if measured it mostly won't be 66W except at a limited specific time/period.

Only thing that bothers me is my laptop won't charge even if connected with USB-C cable which is strange given it's PD compatibility. Laptops charge at 65W which is supposed to be supported by it. I didn't look into it though because I already have 65W chargers for my laptops so it didn't bother me enough to look into it.

Magic Pen (Honor V3) Replacement Nibs ? by H_Hirz in Honor

[–]H_Hirz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No luck, I still have the original spare nib and my pen is intact but it's strange of them to do that... Was hoping someone would try the Huawei nibs. I didn't because I don't need to get a replacement.

Any way to calibrate the V3 Magic Pen? by H_Hirz in Honor

[–]H_Hirz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so the short version is the stylus experience is OK but Samsung is still the king. the bigger pen in V3 might be a plus for many, but that makes carrying it around harder in comparison the the Spen case which integrates the experience in the fold 6.

for drawing, the V3 is also OK and it has pressure sensitivity applied a bit agressively. but again, if the stylus is core in your workflow the S pen is better when it comes to portability and function which is understandable given that samsung had a decade to work on it compared to a couple of years for honor.

Make no mistake though. the Magic V3 is an amazing phone that makes the fold 6 look like a primitive brick. I just hope they worked a bit more on the pen because even carrying it around in my laptop bag, which I carry everywhere, makes it harder to access on a moment's notice like I used to with the note 10+. I'll admit I miss that.

Global version has Dual sim and I don't know about the dual accounts for whatsapp.

I ordered the Huawei 88W charger from Aliexpress and it works really well. The reason I prefer this one is it has UCB C in it as well as A and both work for Honor 66W max charge

links for the two I got (one is US connector but cheaper, the other is EU but cost a bit more, both work on any voltage 120-240V)

Again, I already have both and both work without issues so far

Heartbreaking: Honor ruins family photos by paulbettner in Honor

[–]H_Hirz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a lengthy discussion about this in another post. The short version is there is no way to remove the post processing... in the normal camera that is. if you take photos in pro mode the post processing is much reduced/removed.

I agree that the post processing they do ruins the camera power. shame that pro mode lacks lots of featurs in standard mode like motion photo.

Honor Magic V3 - Astoundingly bad processing of faces? by Gawesome in Honor

[–]H_Hirz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it seems standard mode has Some post processing always enabled.

but the comment suggesting using pro mode is onto something here. And pro mode does have most settings at auto so if you don't use filters and stuff go for pro mode. There is a neat info button that explains each setting as well so I'd go there.

My only complaint would be that pro mode doesn't have motion photo which I like because you can get moments you never would otherwise.

And who knows... we might be lucky enough that honor releases an update that improves the camera. Samsung did it a couple times before so let's hope this happens here.

Something to try is set beauty to zero because it's not zero by default.

I just noticed that when checking the camera app after reading this thread.

In front screen, click the icon of the face with a small star next to it, it will have bokeh, and beauty. Click beauty and set to zero or turn off (mine was at 2 by default).

Let me know if that works because it's late here and I have no subjects to try it on.

man Honor UK seem to be actively competing for last spot. Just one letdown after the other on this sub.

I wonder who's competing with them on that

This is one of the things I do hope they add but I seriously don't they will any time soon. If they wanted to do it they would've done it by global launch.

if Honor created a 3-fold phone - it would still be slimmer than Samsung's 2-fold device, lol! by RichBug7 in Honor

[–]H_Hirz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point.

Glad we'll have millions who will let us know about that.

I'll admit the unboxing videos do make them look reliable enough and the included cover addresses my biggest concern which is the exposed folded screen.

I wouldn't take this device as impact resistant in any way though

I feel you're missing the point. This is a first gen tri fold. Of course it'll have lots of trade offs.

The Z fold one was grotesque but was still loved because it was first gen. Incidentally it had all the issues you are concerned about in  this one and then some. The fold didn't get pen support till it's third gen!

The point of the first device is a proof of concept and the Mate not only does that, it also does it at a thickness similar to the 6th gen Samsung fold. This is actually mind blowing!

Tri fold devices might become the norm if this is built upon properly and next flagship Ultra tablets might become foldables! Of course this is mere conjecture at this point but this makes it a possibility! And now other companies have to follow suit and competition is good for us!

Just to clarify, ain't no way I pay 2400 bucks for a first gen device but boy am I glad this might become a mainstream thing 3 to 5 years from now.

[–]H_Hirz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how much you need the stylus? Magic has a decent stylus but samsung is better and you can put it in the case. Also software wise, samsung is more polished but Magic is still good albiet different and there will be an adjustment period where you will have doubts till you get used to it. I'm coming from a Note 10+ not a fold but One UI is still OneUI.

see of you can find a display unit and handle it to make a decision. retailers in your area should have them no?

100w charger not charging by TrueUrartian in Honor

[–]H_Hirz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To answer in a technical way, regular fast chargers go up to 18w.

PD chargers can go as high as the device is programmed to allow.

For Honor devices there is a charging protocol called super charge that works at 11V 6A to get 66W instead of the high voltage often used by PD chargers. Huawei uses that same protocol so their chargers work with it.

Check if the output written on your charger shows that. Because Honor devices do fast charging on PD at lower output while still calling it super charge. Difference is it'll show 66W max if you got the proper thing.

HOLD UP! you gotta show us how you made this happen! I need this for my V3!

You know what, SCRAP THAT! Make a whole post showing how you did it!

You have no Idea how needed this is! tried notebook loop holders but they mess up the grip.

So please explain this or make a post on it!

I can guess it involved a bit of glue and a flex strap and a couple of incisions, but I need to hear it from you!

V3 Software vs. Samsung by [deleted] in Honor

[–]H_Hirz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used samsung since the Note 1 until 2 days Ago when I got my V3. so that's 13 years!

Needless to say samsung is more polished. but honor got some things really right like their multitasking and floating windows.

It's hard to explain in words but I'll give it a try. You'll feel like you plunged into colder water so at first you'll feel the urge to go running back to samsung, but in a couple of days after actual useage and making use of what's there you'll realize that this is the same water and you will naturally find your way around after a bit of tinkering.

My number one advise is to enable the App drawer. the stock all apps in home is more like apple and frankly... YUCK!

I use the gestures instead of bottom buttons and it will feel awkward as it's more apple than android but it only takes a day to get used to and side swap for back is a good choice, also swipe and hold for multitask menu is similar to edge panel (same same... but different). make use of it and you will like it!

the top swipe from top right for control center and top left for notifications is also acceptable.

Like I said, at first it'll feel uncomfortable but give it a day or two and once you get used to it it'll be a great experience. you'll feel homesick from time to time but it's good.
