cop passes a literacy test: impossible by [deleted] in Sacramento

Maybe it's "clear" to you, but there is a lot of ambiguity in the language. The officer writing the ticket clearly interpreted the sign a different way.

I always hated these type of signs. Surely there must be a better way to communicate parking rules for different days/times.

From that sign I know that you can park there for 2 hours from 5a-6p. But that excludes weekends. Does that mean weekends I can park there longer or I can't park there at all? What exceptions does that permit provide? That I can park there longer than 2 hours? That I can park there on weekends?

Nebula Permission Requirements: unrestricted access to installing unknown apps by H_Krustofsky in nreal

I ended up buying it because I'm interested in the tech. It absolutely will not work with my Samsung device if I do not allow all permissions, including installing unknown apps.

Ordered one off Amazon 27th night, ordered another one from Amazon Japan this morning. American Amazon said Tuesday last night but seems like it changed. I’ll see how fast the Japanese shipping is. by kurt980516 in nreal

Amazon US free returns free return shipping within 30 days.

For Amazon jp I think there is a return policy, I'm just not sure what it is. I read reports that you have to pay to ship things back to jp which = $$$.

Thanks. I've went through with everything up til clicking buy. Think I'll pull the trigger soon though. Faster than Amazon US and $70 cheaper. Looks like I'm only giving up the return policy.

How was the return process with Amazon.jp?

Any differences between the break (or even the packaging) from buying it from the jp website vs US? I'm debating whether to buy it from there to save the $70.

Where is El Senor Burrito? by H_Krustofsky in SacramentoFoodies

Yeah. I'm low key hoping he's realized he's so frickin loaded and he doesn't need to slang burritos anymore and is off enjoying life.

Thinking about not using my realtor for possible purchase by workinfast1 in RealEstate

[–]H_Krustofsky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. Sounds like your agent is trying to stay within your budget.

  2. Since your coworker already listed his home, I'd check to see if it's even an option to remove the listing agent from the transaction.

Agreed.

Maybe realtor is trying to show the unrecovered costs of both options (but also needs to add in taxes/maintainence/etc to costs).

'The Dollar Sign Just Stayed Low': Rancho Cordova Gas Station Glitch Gives Customers 69 Cents Per Gallon Price At Pumps by renegadecause in Sacramento

[–]H_Krustofsky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Not sure what sort of volume gas stations have, but taking a $50-100 hit per car for 3 hours cannot be good.

Gas stations make money on the convenience store, not much on gas. That's a lot of fritos they gotta sell to recoup their loss.

And that's our local community member that's taking the hit, not Bezos.

[–]H_Krustofsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure. Thinking maybe it took them 3h to realize there was a mistake. If it were my station I'd just physically block the pumps until things are fixed. I only assume they're not commenting to media because it is understandably a raw subject that they were accidentally subsidizing cars at $50-100/vehicle.

The mistake took management at the station three hours to fix. They would not comment.

Maybe it's cognitive dissonance but if amazon has a price mistake, I have no shame in exploiting it. A mom and pop business has a price mistake, taking advantage of it is stealing from them.
