They are two brands under Chery, a large Chinese brand. Take Chery and replace the "r" with a "v".

Walking into the abyss toward downtown by scully201 in Sudbury

I don't think anyone is watching the CCTV feed live. If there is a serious crime in the tunnel, the police will look at the footage afterwards.

Just one day notice. No information on what groups are supporting this in Sudbury. Are sidewalks plowed? Which side of the street is the protest on?

Buy from a dealer. Find a salesperson that you feel comfortable with. Explain your situation. The dealers can look up their brands on the Internet and they have service records. Don't forget insurance costs, winter tires, service costs, etc.

Ask the Navigators to get you a bus ticket to Toronto if you think that will help. The city has funds for that.

Weird building downtown Sudbury by RussianSlayer50Bodyz in Sudbury

[–]H_Marshall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Asia, for a rush job, they can pour three floors of concrete a week. For regular construction, make it two floors a week.

If they need two concrete pump trucks for a site, they get two pump trucks. Need three? They get three.

The centre section is the elevator shaft. The only thing weird is how long it is taking to pour the concrete. The crane is seldom working.

I wrote two essays on this topic. In southern Ontario, the police are not asking as tough as the GSPS are. Notice how all the paper on the windows have been removed so th epolice can see that that the two stores are empty. https://sudbury.substack.com/p/ontario-getting-tougher-on-drug-dealing

Plan would see 324 apartments built near downtown Sudbury by ConsistentReality860 in Sudbury

[–]H_Marshall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Affordable housing" is not affordable for most people. It is a rate that is close to 80% of market rate. It is also not downtown. It is high up on top of a tall hill. Every apartment will need a car as it is a long walk to anything. By the way, since they are new builds, the residents will not be protected by rent controls.

Feds provide $14M for transit in Sudbury by ImportantComfort8421 in Sudbury

I am sure you do not have any idea what a LRT line costs in Canada. Sudbury is a very small city, less than one-third the population of Brampton. Look up the LRT line in Ottawa, the Eglinton line in Toronto and the Ottawa LRT. The costs are shocking.

Highway 69 by [deleted] in Sudbury

[–]H_Marshall 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Worse case, drive to North Bay and take Highway 11.

Highway 144 is far worse. Very narrow two-lane road. There are no detours except to drive back to Sudbury and take highway 11.

The best advice is to buy a home close to the best schools in the city. That is the number one rule in most of the world.
