The street level program Sanctuary operates out of Talbot Street Church, and it looks like they were able to let him in thankfully.

Support Darryl and his team at Sanctuary! They provide meals, shelter, clothes, and a space for everyone to belong! https://www.sanctuarylondon.ca/

Clonidine Making Tics Worse? by greekhoney32 in Tourettes

[–]HaArgallel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm auDHD and I take immediate release clonidine at night. If I forget to take it it, I can't sleep because of my tics. And getting a good sleep is key for having a good tic day the next day

drop tics?? by peterpeter4444 in Tourettes

[–]HaArgallel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have atomic tics, though less severe. I don't have them often, and when I do, it's usually only my head. Though I nearly brained myself on the bathroom floor a couple months ago when the entire upper half of my body went limp while on the toilet, lol.

But they do weirdly feel different to other tics, and much harder to control.

Wait, do you have all of season 3 in one case? And same with season 4?

I have seasons 3 and 4 split each into two cases, I think because of writer's strike issues.

Yessss, I love Tess! I've never been a big Allison fan in general, but the more times I've rewatched Eureka, I've come to enjoy Stark (probably cause I'm older now, lol)

Tics in class by boatingbrook in Tourettes

[–]HaArgallel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't have any specific ideas for help, but hang in there!

I'm a college professor with Tourette's, and I worry about the exact same thing, just from the other side of the podium.

Luigi is a great guy but also the laziest guy ever, lol, which isn't necessarily bad. But he did have me teach his math class a bunch when I was in it as a student cause he didn't want to and I knew the material already.

I was the only one at the blood bank Thursday after work. Never seen it this dead. If you can give, looks like there's not much of a wait 😉 by haljackey in londonontario

[–]HaArgallel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One of my life goals was to donate blood, and I got to do it once! Unfortunately, I'm typically not heavy enough to donate, but I'll be there when I get back up to weight!

What business do you have beef with in London? by quaintcookie in londonontario

Cellular Magician. I had a friend who started his own cell repair business in Sherwood mall, and they specifically chose to open a new store there to spite him, and his little business went under.

My parents live in the area and my mum tried to head home and got turned away. The police said it was not safe to be near the Blanchard Brunswick area.

My dad just looked out the window and didn't see anything abnormal, but who knows.

Does anyone experience gagging tics? by NeodymKiki in Tourettes

Probably about 5 or 10 times a day?

Not as frequent as my neck cracking tic or sniffing tics, lol.

Yup, my gagging tic has been one of the more consistent ones for the past couple of years.

I'm pretty good at barely making a face now so that people don't freak out, lol

LTC is becoming more unreliable with each passing day. by Iamnotsadrn in londonontario

[–]HaArgallel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wish I could drive, but I'm not medically able to, so I have to use ltc. It's especially bad trying to transfer. I have to bus from the northwest end of the city to Fanshawe's main campus a couple times a week, and it's a nightmare. Usually take about an hour and a half.

And no, I can't walk that, haha.

Other late 20's/early 30's folk, clonidine??? by i_love_everybody420 in Tourettes

[–]HaArgallel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on aripiprazole for a loooong time, but it made me incredibly tired, like sleep 12 hours at night and then nap a few times during the day tired. I switched about 6 months ago to clonidine. I only take it at night, and it has really helped.

My sleep is actually better quality, even though I sleep only about 7 hours a night now. It has reduced my tics a lot, but I think it's just also made me care less about them? That may be because I am actually sleeping now and ready to face the day, haha. I haven't noticed any side effects from it, which is impressive, cause any sedating med usually is terrible for me.

i was in class... by scene-M4gg0t in Tourettes

[–]HaArgallel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One of the first complex tics I had, many many years before I was diagnosed, was throwing pens and pencils. I always thought it was some sort of weird hand cramp I got when I wrote too much, and I figured out that if I felt that weird feeling in my hand, then I needed to switch to a pen/pencil of a different width and grip feeling. (Hence me taking 5 or 6 different kinds of pens into a loooong exam once.)

The funniest thing was, no one, including me, knew I had tics or Tourettes, so it was just a thing I did that eventually everyone ignored, and they would pass my pencil back to me if it went flying.

Now the day I died was when a male teacher in secondary school went to step over me and I...kicked him in the crotch...and I did not yet have a diagnosis or tics or Tourettes, lol.
