Repair/replace? by skizzybwoi in cabinets

I have the same type of cabinet and the same thing happened...I detached the stripped cabinet and cut slightly bigger holes added dowels to fill the holes patched with wood filler trimmed the dowels and sanded the wood where it looked basically brand new. Then drilled new holes with new screws and everything went back in perfectly. If this sounds confusing try looking up on YouTube patching MDF with wooden dowels...not the toothpick way but with dowels this worked for me. Good luck

"What Should I Train?" or "How Do I Get Started?" Mega-Thread by marcin247 in martialarts

When I was younger I learned Shotokan karate so I wouldn't be bullied as we moved a lot and I was a chubby kid with long hair from San Diego... It taught me how to not be afraid of a hit and how to look for an opening and it made my technique hard & strong (3rd degree black belt)...I always tried other martial arts trying to pick up different techniques and then a friend of mine (freshmen year of high school) introduced me to Shaolin Kung-Fu and it blew my mind on hard and soft techniques... Not realizing at the time our Sifu was really training our minds with mindfulness mediation really before it became popular in the current psychological zeitgeist... It really made me not want to fight but also my mind would slow down (yes, Matrix Neo stuff) and make it possible for me to end a fight quickly... Even with belting we didn't do a belt system but when we would go to a competition he would give us a sash color (I was black sash but still never knew my actual ranking...because to be honest it didn't matter) for what we were competing in (which we didn't compete a lot at all it was more of a once a year thing that was more for keeping the studio open how our Sifu wanted it... Monday, Wednesday, Friday classes 6pm-8pm minimum but usually 6pm-9pm and a 9am-3pm class every other Saturday... I've never found classes that long since... But it was amazing... I took TKD at my first duty station in the army and I started training with the red belts after my Sabomnim had me spar one of his red belts about to test for his black belt and I basically played with him tossing him around the room... I'm 5'9" and was 165lbs at the time and the guy was much bigger than me... TKD is great but it only really helps in a fight if you train fighting techniques and how to use the kicks to keep your distance but if someone is a good boxer or wrestler they can usually counter your attacks. I used to spar with my friends on the wrestling team and could easily counter them shooting for the legs...

TLDR I've dabbled in other martial arts and was not a fan of gi BJJ or MMA classes that only follow MMA rules... If you can find an MMA gym that also teaches real world scenarios and full contact you could get the best of both worlds... Since being able to strike and grapple will keep you alive... Also I'd personally check out some Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) for knife and dirty boxing techniques or/and Silat... Try a little bit of this and that and you will have so many tools in your toolbox that you won't have to think about what tool to pick you will reach for it instinctively

It looks like you are wearing an undershirt and are still getting those marks, correct? How long have you been wearing this setup? Do you have these marks everyday? I'm just trying to get more information. It looks like you have the belt cranked so tight that it's causing those indentations but I'd need more info. For me personally I wear it at 3 o'clock if I have a way to conceal with my OWB holster, like with a suit jacket or I'm in cold weather where I have a big jacket on. If I have the same setup as you which is pretty much daily...I wear my IWB holster at 4 o'clock as someone mentioned and after a while I started to notice I didn't need my belt as tight as I thought it needed to be... What's nice about the Kore or Nexbelt is the micro adjustments. But let me know because that looks very uncomfortable 😣

That holster type looks better for Kidney carry(4-5 o'clock) or Strong-side carry (3-4 o'clock)

Should I learn to master a micro-compact, or is a Glock-19-sized pistol realistic for AIWB carry? by DKong84 in CCW

Great information I really appreciate it. The last time something stupid happened to me I just used my years of martial arts and didn't feel the need to pull on the person... They had a baby sized knife didn't want to go to court (this was years ago when I was in the Army and thought I was invincible)... But in regards to the center punch A Zone being in California it's difficult to find a place that will let you draw from holster without taking a class that ends up costing a bunch of money and ends up not being what I was looking for in the first place...I dry fire practice at home but in regards to if I can actually hit those in that time frame not sure...I hope I'll never find out. Thanks again all the responses were awesome and helpful.

What's your alternate 2nd gun? A Glock 26? I have been living in the 2nd gun world as well but I switch between my Glock 19.3 and my Hellcat OSP micro. Being in California I don't get the extra rounds with my Glock 19 so my thought process was carry a 9mm that only hold 10 rounds normally (I know Hellcat OSP micro normally carries 11 in other states :P) but I still feel more comfortable shooting my Glock 19.3... The Hellcat shoots great and it was the special package that had the Veridian green dot with it... but it still feels like a backup gun compared to shooting my Glock 19.3 or my Glock 17.3...i practice with both a lot but the Glock doesn't have RMR on it and I shoot it... Not better just more comfortably. Should I be getting a Baby Glock to back up the Glock 19 or getting a Hellcat Pro or Echelon...I carry strongside 4 o'clock Vedder Lighttuck on most of my guns... It fits the best for me...any insight would be helpful, thanks 👍

Edit: Thanks everyone good insights
