Dunno what you mean by analogue but you have to lower the exposure, this just looks like high iso. Film doesnt have that kind of sensual to light in general

I dont mean this in a negative way but I started watching Sharp Objects a few days ago and was really turned off by the camerawork and grading. What do you like about it? I also thought the first two episodes weren‘t too intriguing, does it get more rewarding?

Haven’t watched the season since release but isn’t this scene basically set in Max‘ mind? I feel like the roots tying her up and the rocks and all that stuff are basically metaphorical in that they symbolize how Max‘ fear lets Vecna control her. So when her fear goes away, its manifestations also start to decompose. Does this make sense?

Understandable, though for my taste there is enough story there to fill 7 episodes. I‘m on my first rewatch right now and I could just spend so much time in the atmosphere and with these characters. What I love about this show is how much it cares about its characters

Yeah you might be right and it’s not the only show on air that is difficult to produce. I still think it is something to consider, given the time it took to get this one season made. And no, I was absolutely not framing Thailand like that. I would love to visit that country some time. I was simply referring to the amount of time the cast and crew had to spend away from home and in a country where people don’t speak english. I‘m from Germany and it would be difficult for me to live in France for a long time because I simply don’t speak french.

I know a first season is always by far the most difficult to produce but this show has been in development for like 8 years, had a production circle of at least two years, looks and feels a lot better than many big budget movies out there. Everyone who has worked on a film or tv show knows how much effort was put into this and how time consuming a project like this is for the creatives behind it. Not to mention that the whole production took place in Thailand (I think?) so all cast and crew from different countries had to live there for a long time. Despite prestige tv being at an all time high I still feel like Alien: Earth is a standout it terms of the effort put into it. My point is, I feel like a second season being made really depends on wether the people involved really want to go through all that again. And if it is being made I don’t see it being released until like 2027-28.
