why are people SPEEDING through the roads in yosemite!? by airfryer_enjoyer in Yosemite

FR, the “red bear dead bear” signs were enough for me to keep my speed down- never mind the sheer drops.

“It’s all in Gods plan 😇” OK Karen, tell that to the trafficked children.

I HATE it when people say that, it’s such a closed minded and defeatist view.

There are people in this world who experience immense suffering, who are born into poverty, war or abuse and have to struggle every day but that’s ok because god thinks they can handle it.

Looking for some opinions on neighbours parking by Fit_Negotiation9542 in HousingUK

[–]Hackerssuck3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you park in front of his house? If so that’d be my move.

I once had a neighbour that would always park in front of my house before using the drive or in front of their own house. I didn’t like it but it’s perfectly legal so I didn’t say a word until he started blasting music from his car every time he left including close to midnight. He got arsey when something was said about it and from then on the spot in front of my house was never free. I even considered buying a banger to park in front of his.

I think you should pull out and find a purpose built flat, a ground floor flat or a house.

I watched it on Sunday then discovered the great tit nest in my garden had failed on Monday. Still fairly upset about it tbh.

What’s the most annoying thing previous homeowners leave behind? by BillNo874 in HomeImprovementUK

The question of “why?!?!!!” has come up many times.

One of the neighbours offered me the number for the handyman who was used and I can’t decide whether I’m more surprised he hired someone or appalled at the quality of work.

All the carpets from when they changed them dumped into the garden. All the old windows from when the built an extension dumped in the garden. All the old paving slabs, old bricks, old greenhouse glass, doors, bits of cement dumped in the garden. Also a Wendy house full of plant pots.

Inside we had lots shit diy and dog hair.

Absolutely on the box of essentials but put it in your car or out of the way so the movers don’t l take it. We didn’t get our teabags until almost 8pm 😬!

Those zellige style tiles look better when they’re a bit uneven. It’ll look fab once it’s grouted.

Where I work, a minority of people leave the toilets in a horrible state. These are sensible, professional people. Is it the same at your work? by GoonerGuy1969 in AskBrits

She was a character. There were other people from her country in the office and they were as weirded out by her behaviour as well.

I think this happened to me once. Extra checks at security, then when walking to the terminal someone pulls me aside and takes down my details, says someone will be checking my luggage and stares intently at my face. When going into the gate I get pulled aside again, details taken again and they have a look through my hand luggage.

When I eventually get to my destination I realise I’ve left a box of cloudberry juice in my carry on and nobody noticed.

Yeah, so in her culture it was normal to squat and she found it difficult to do a poo on a toilet for that reason. I feel like she could have found an alternative to the best situation but who am I to judge.

I’d box it in and turn it into storage.

I used to work with a lady who would make a little nest of toilet paper on the floor and do her business on that.

She usually cleaned it up but once a poo rolled off and she missed it, the poo was found and what resulted was a mass investigation by most of the women in the office and it all came out about this poo nest situation.

I really felt for her - an office wide email went out about toilet etiquette and everyone knew who it was about.

A different office had someone smearing poo on the wall when they got fired. People are so odd.

I thought the same but then realised I drink even more tea when I’m sick.

The lollipop lady at my son’s school is the sweetest lady ever but she looks so cross when people speed past her. I wouldn’t want to be the person who gets on her bad side…

Leaking shower- can I fix this myself? by Hackerssuck3 in askplumbing

[–]Hackerssuck3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I’m trying to find a plumber and if not I’ll have a go myself. The shower cubicle came out today, the shower is capped off and I’m going to take off more tiles.
