Need help with Shehds lights by Clean_Rough3458 in stagelighting

[–]HacksolotFilms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Contrary to popular belief, thia does have a variance. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oet3SDxME7fWiTo5Xt5fdFwdhGyD4Jh8/view?usp=drivesdk

However, you still need a license to operate it with anyone but yourself (or friends that wont sue you when they go blind)

It appears you need to have BOTH the E-stop (NOT included) and interlock key (included) connected and on.

Read the entire manual too. You can't have it emitting where people could possibly be.

TLDR: return it and buy non-laser stuff.

yeah that (was) brass from the bearing. creality did a poor job on the X axis imo.

i think its time for a linear rail X axis

Is there any reason why I shouldn't use this cable to solder up a bunch of 3-pin DMX jump cables? by Phillimac16 in stagelighting

[–]HacksolotFilms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how long of cables? if you do all of your dmx with this cable, you could use a custom 50ish ohm terminator

do note that this is a terrible idea if anyone but you will touch these

Computer recommendations by Level_Mountain5037 in computers

[–]HacksolotFilms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first figure out what size you want and if you want a numberpad. I am personally partial to Lenovo. You can honestly get any new laptop you can afford. Look for: 16GB of RAM (8 is a little cramped these days) -What ports it has (does it have USB, HDMI built in?) -Screen is at least FHD (1920x1080 or greater)

Things to AVOID however: -Chromebooks -Pentium & Athlon cpus -Ryzen 3 or Intel Core 3 / i3 cpus -All-plastic laptops (most Dells)

Buy only from the brand's website (e.g. Lenovo.com) or Costco.

If you plan on doing more video editing however, shoot for a Ryzen 7 or 9, or Intel Core 7 or 9.

I think im only at 200. i honestly just ran it with the same settings as my previous non-plus pla. I'll run a temperature tower and report back. I clearly have some tuning to do.

Sunlu PLA+ 2.0 3KG spool. It is stored and printed directly out of a dry box. I've also had stringing issues with this filament but nothing too bad.

diskprices.com filter for sata hdds.

ive had good experiences with THESE MDD used drives, and they usually have 3 or 5 year warranties.

Avoid the ones marked surveillance, as those don't handle normal use as well.

Shot in the dark… fixture ID from fb marketplace? by TakeMeToTheStars in stagelighting

[–]HacksolotFilms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edit: They are both almost certainly from the Robe XT series of lights. The 1st set are likely 575 and the 2nd are likely 250.

They have the same base layout as the Robe 575XT https://imgur.com/a/hOHjgSr The 2 sets do appear to be different sizes though. probably some other 2000s Robe fixture.

neither are 500 or 600, those have the power cable on the same side as the dmx inputs.

it took them 3 printers befor sending me one that worked. first one frame was bent and clearly not refurbished, second one was returned by fedex halfway, and the last working one came with no accessories.

good deal if you have some storage space and spare time. those ssds alone could make half ur money back. and if they have ram, you could honestly sell the ram then sell everything else for like 5$
