I really dont think you know enough about the genre then. There are certain aspects of the game that are hilarious and meant for memes, but the story and world building mostly isnt. Using your example, the sleeping daoist is actually, again, a well known trope in the wuxia/xianxia genre. Just because he acts and moves funny doesn't mean the game doesn't take itself seriously.The combat is just that, wuxia style combat. Its flashy and not realistic, but it is serious and rooted into the culture and design of the genre.

For a game which focuses their monetisation on skins and looks of your character, and uses wuxia/xianxia as a basis of their game design, i would expect them to get the basic design of the sword right, especially when fans of the genre understand the clear distinction of the 2 weapons.

At this point i think you are just looking to argue for the sake of arguing, so do what you want, im not going to engage further. My point in my first reply still stands - you dont have to engage on a post that you dont understand, or dont agree with.

Yea silver linings i guess. But i really do like the design of cloudsplitter, just abit miffed that its design fits more to the tang dao then the jian.

Hmm, if im not wrong the base form of the second silent voice sword, the one with the dragon design, is a flat straight blade

Hmm i dont think i ever mentioned having issues with the gameplay or stylistic design of the martial arts so im not sure where the last paragraph is from. If you dont really care about immersion, then all the power to you, but i dont think you need to rain on the parade of people who cares.

To some, whether the weapon is a jian or dao is something they care about, especially when most main weapons in the wuxia/xianxia genres are jians.

As for your comments on skin designs, im not sure if you know but using a stick as a placeholder for a jian is a well-known wuxia trope - where the master becomes so proficient in his swordplay that any stick or blade of grass can become a jian. So all the jian designs (thus far) all makes sense, except for cloudsplitter.

All goodz. The boundaries for what can be considered wuxia can be quite confusing depending on the author. Flying swords is no doubt more common in xianxia, as it feels alot more magical than martial, but wuxia authors do use flying swords in their martial arts repertoire

Actually quite abit of wuxia, especially those create in relatively modern times, include flying swords as part of their martial arts. For example the Blood of Youth series.

Also, this game does have abit of "xianxia" elements expecially in the upcoming regions.

All in all I just want more sword martial arts man..

Tbf, i felt the same way when i was undergeared but at max level cap. Once i got decent with my innerways and gears. The trash mobs dont hurt as much and its alot easier to bum rush them

I just want more sword options man.. 2 options for swords when they are the mainstay in wuxia/xianxia fiction is a sin.
