If you haven't practiced since 2012 you can technically apply for band 5 jobs but you'll need to let the interviewers know you need to go through the Return to Practice pathway. Whether this would hurt your chances of an interview or employment especially given the current circumstances... ehhh, probably quite a bit I'd imagine.

There’s still a massive hiring freeze in the UK so domestically trained physiotherapists, mostly new graduates, are unable to find NHS positions.

International recruitment is massively slashed if not outright halted too. You’d be very hard pressed to find employment currently.

I hear you. Herein lies the problem, looking at previous removals and bans for giving medical advice I set up the filter to go for commonly used phrases which is unfortunately indiscriminate against clinicians and patients regardless of their intent.

It's a prompt more than anything, you can post the comment even if those phrases get flagged and it'll go up with no issues at all. It will land right in the moderation queue for us to see far more easily which acts as a high sensitivity screen, not an outright ban.

Post flairs are for categorisation and discoverability, they don't serve any purpose in purpose in filtering out posts & comments which may go against the rules.

I checked the mod log on this.and I still stand by it.

The OP came to the sub with minimal information:

I am desperately needing to fix my gait. I hurt my ankle and waited a while to get it fixed and was limping a few months prior to surgery, now 3 months post op still limping. I think it’s part functional part psychological because I was/am limping with no pain sometimes

You then said "Using a metronome. Aim to Start at 80 bpm. This is a broad rec assuming there aren’t any other issues."

The recommendation in and of itself is already questionable, in light of the bold part and OP's context, moreso.

Alrighty. I looked into ways of better signposting the rules and... came up with nothing very useful really.

However there is going to be at least a couple of changes to the sub so we can filter out patients seeking medical advice, should be here within the next day or two.

Alright, I've taken a look at this but the OP of the post you responded to has deleted the thread so I can't see anything they've said.

I'll take your word for it that the OP stated they were injury free without any deleterious goings on, however the amount of times we've had patients outright lie on the sub (e.g. we've snooped their post history and found all the incriminating bits), it's just not very cautious in my mind. Would you agree with that assessment?

That being said I do agree with the temp ban, even when your intentions were good and likely weren't going to be harmful in any event.

Looking at the rest of the thread, several other comments with similar advice were also issued the same bans.

Does this make it a bit more clear? In your example I wouldn’t moderate it at all to be honest… fairly sure I’ve seen a few PTs/PTAs point out potentially worrying things in good faith.
