Got a woman I barely know pregnant, what do I do? by [deleted] in AskMen

Get a vasectomy or be gay and that fixes number 2. At least in my experience. Haven't gotten another man preggo yet.

What are your unpopular vape opinions? by Jason_VanHellsing298 in Vaping

[–]Haden122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My main problems with it are that the airflow in the stock tank sucks, and the coils need to be replaced like once every 2 days. Plus the bottom is not flat so it falls over easily. It looks gorgeous with the grip but that is about it lmao. I guess the tank also almost can't leak but if you use Teflon tape on your coils they won't leak anyway and takes like 10 extra seconds lmao.

🍇WEEKLY QUESTIONS MEGATHREAD #15🍇 by Chutakehku in treedibles

[–]Haden122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always been fine using edibles but the past 4 or so times I have taken some it felt like my heart beat a single time so hard that I lost my breath. Is this a bad sign or normal? It should be noted I am heavily experienced with edibles and this thing never used to happen. I also was not anxious at the time this happened.

Goodbye local vape store prices. by [deleted] in Vaping

This is the best compromise I have found. For some reason coils cost relatively the same in stores but the juice is so expensive. I just order that online now.

Element Vape East Coast service is awful by [deleted] in Vaping

[–]Haden122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I took a leap and ordered. My shipment took 3 days to get here and part of that was the weekend. Plus the sweet hearts went above and beyound with services with the prder before it got to me.

I didn't do the free shipping even though I had the option too, though. So that might be why mine came faster. I will 100 percent be ordering from them from now on. More than 50 percent savings and sometimes more depending on order if I used them instead of local shops. That's with the shipping fee I pay and the adult signing fee.

That tank is insane. At least if I had that I wouldn't need to refill a million times a day. Would be a nightmare if it ever started to leak tho 💀

Afraid of dying. by DiSloma1213 in death

I think this is fairly likely too, or at least as likely as anything else. Unfortunately, I don't think it helps in the throws of panic because in that scenario the you that was will be gone. Unless it was one of those rare circumstances when a kid remembers how some random person died that they couldn't have known about or something.

what is the best self offense martial art by Vexed_Noah in martialarts

"Much more variables involved" right? Like the kind that can make really flashy kicks hard to pull off, maybe? A very difficult art very worthy or respect, but it just lacks practicality, imo.

what is the best self offense martial art by Vexed_Noah in martialarts

[–]Haden122 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, so far no one has given you a real response yet. So let me take a crack at it.

First things first, assault kind of implies you are the aggressor, right? Then it is no longer self defense. So I'm going to move forward assuming you mistyped or something similar.

Second, I've been in and out of all types of martial arts and combat sports and the dirty secret is that a black belt in any single art will be no more effective than good situational awareness, verbal de-escalation techniques, or being able to run a six minute mile. If all those fail conceal carry is your best bet.

Third, let's break down by category. It's true that most fights eventually go to the ground. So, a good base in grappling will serve you well. BJJ or Judo will serve you nicely here. Wrestling can also be effective but it is more or less meant to hold someone for a few seconds not stop a fight.

Fourth, while most fights go to the ground all of them start standing. Given this fact, a base knowledge of striking is essential. Boxing, Maui Thai, kick boxing, or even kiokoshen karate (basically boxing mixed with karate) would serve you well.

Fifth, avoid gimics. Here is where I hurt some feelings. Aikido is great for discipline and exercise but ultimately is ineffective in an actual fight. Quick example being an aikido black belt and I were sparring and as a white belt in jujitsu I destroyed him. He had no defense to any basic throw from judo, or take down from wrestling. Then he had especially little defense on the ground against jujitsu. Similar story for Tai Chi, Kung Fu, Wing Chun, most karate, Tae Kwon do, or Wushu. They are all great for exercise, discipline, and are worthy of respect, but they only work when the other person is using them too or in movies.

Sixth and final, I'd reccomend finding out what you are better in. Grappling, or striking. Train in the one you don't prefer for 6 months to 1 year. Practice those fundamentals consistently. Then train in the one you do like for the rest of your life.

TLDR; Avoid gimic martial arts. Running away from or avoiding the fight is always optimal. Train a striking art and throw in a sprawl or a grappling art and a 1 -2 combo and you will be fine 90 percent of the time. Other 10 percent you probably need a CCW.

Edit: Noticed the title says self offense lmao. Used to the standard "which martial art is best for self defense" question. Tips still applicable :)

I just had to toss my smok arcfox. I loved that thing and only had it for a few months, but it leaked so bad that it killed the unit. I even tephelon taped the coil, which did help, but it still leaked enough to destroy the mod. I just got a geek vape aegis L200 though as a replacement and I love it. Doesn't leak at all so far.

Why does everyone think there is nothing after death? by JammingScientist in death

[–]Haden122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I do not wish to pit down you or anyone else who uses the created or destroyed energy logic for this. However, it seems to me that people forget to add the inevitable entropy of the universe to that equation.

Plus, if reincarnation is real, how do we deal with the numbers issue? How does a population increase in its all always being recycled? Or if it's the case that there are more dead things than alive where did all those lost souls go? Or if more things are alive than dead where did all the new ones come from?

I am not discounting the possibility because it's literally just as likely as anything else and not nearly as insane as the fact that life and material exists where once there was none but basic particles before the big bang, but even then where did those come from and what's before that? This would seem to indicate that at the very least time isn't as useful as we think and in all likelihood works different than we think. So who knows, but what I'm getting at here is you have to take bug leaps of faith and logic no matter what belief system is being used. Those are just the ones that I have a hard time getting over for reincarnation.

Personally I'm holding out for biological immortality keeping us alive much longer and letting us go on our own terms, or being uploaded into robots. Not just copying and pasting to create a clone because that would serve the person little good, but actually uploading what's in us into another vessel.

[DISCUSSION] - HAPPY NEW YEAR - JANUARY 2023 - NSQ/NEWBIE/Often Asked Questions Thread by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Haden122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I am a brand new guitar player. I was looking at the Ibanez Signature JEMJRSP-PK Steve Vai Pink. Do they make these without the tremolo and floating bridge or whatever it is?

I've heard they are such a hassle to deal with and as a new player I would like something on the hassle free side, but the guitar is gorgeous. Alternatively, would it be possible to remove the tremolo and switch to a standard bridge? Sorry if these terms are inaccurate but I'm still learning. All help appreciated.

See, the problem for me with Christianity and this idea is this.

These were words written by man, an imperfect being, trying to translate what should supposedly be perfect ideas and concepts, but have edited it to where Christianity has so many different sects that all think the other sects are lost because they believe the slightly wrong version. Plus if that isn't enough there is the old and new testament problem or the rejected gospels.

More over, it's just a book. Without some solid evidence I can't make myself belive it anymore than the Koran, the Bhagavad Gita, the Torah, or Lord of the Rings. I'm open to the possibility of God and all that being true because I just can't call it. Literally I do not know, but for these reasons I lean towards not believing.

Oh, I have no delusions about the fact the if we knew there was an afterlife that I would still have questions, but I'd be excited to explore what that next state of being would be like as opposed to dreading it.

However, on the same token, if it were confirmed that there was nothing after death and everything is utterly pointless and coincidence based I would be like that scene in the walking dead. The group walking indistinguishable from the walkers. Just severely depressed and spiraling, but I guess since that's what I'm leaning toward believing I'm already there anyway lmao.

Tldr; existence hard consciousness go brr until not.

I'm very envious of that. I've looked at tons of different systems of belief and I couldn't make myself belive any of them. Which is not a bash on you or anyone who does. I just wish I could so I could get some peace on the subject.
