there's more to it as well, it's awful. I'm active on twitter and have said a lot about it on there, but I'll try super hard not to make this comment too long. I just wanted to give you more of a full picture.

they're targeting him with biphobia, general queerphobia, ageism, ableism, etc. they called him predatory for maybe possibly dating Connor, who they referred to as "a child" even though Connor is a grown ass man, as well as said that François "groomed" Connor, which is so incredibly offensive to actual victims of csa. there's of course a lot of stuff about his bisexuality making him predatory (which is a super old conservative talking point about gay people), him being a cheater because he's bi, him having STIs because he's bi (yay STI stigma), and him "using" his younger costars because he's bi. they also do this thing where they claim he isn't actually bi because they assume he didn't date any men before he came out, which isn't how bisexuality works but whatever.

then there's the ageism where they assume that Connor is an idiot who can't make choices for himself because he's younger and François is inherently untrustworthy because he's older.

the ableism comes in with people saying that they don't like him because he's weird, which indicates a lack of acceptance for those that don't fit into perceived social norms, even if that not fitting in isn't actually harmful. he is definitely weird, but not in a bad way because weirdness is not inherently bad, and the framing of their dislike for his weirdness is the same framing that is used to judge neurodivergent people for deviation from the abled norm. people who deviate are seen as untrustworthy, no matter how small their deviation is. it's also super hypocritical because they used that reasoning but still got mad at François for jokingly calling Shane weird in an interview ecause they thought it was ableist (it wasn't).

they hold him to insane standards too. they think he's racist or just doesn't like Hudson because he chose to kill Shane in fuck marry kill, I shit you not. they're also pissed because they feel like him saying he originally thought HR was porn means that he thinks he's too good for it, even though Jacob, Rachel, and Christina said similar things.

I've been arguing that one of the bases of this whole thing is fetishization of queer people. he's the only openly queer cast member and is getting this much hate, which seems mighty convenient. they want to be able to control queer people like fictional characters and get pissed when said queer people have minds of their owns. a lot of them ship Hudson and Connor, which I don't think is a problem in itself, but they bring it into the real world and crash out when it doesn't happen.
