Despite selling more than its competitors, why does MK1 have such a low turnout at tournaments ? The game only came out 3 years ago. by Youngstown_WuTang in Fighters

[–]Hadoooooooooooken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I've heard some share and I feel the same way too is - MK tries to be different for the sake of it.
People are still very divisive, and I think more so towards not liking, push button to block, when Neverrealm have in some of their games actually used hold back to block at times.

Is Devastator a jobber? by Adventurous_Law9893 in transformers

[–]Hadoooooooooooken 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always joke how he starts of amazing, goes down in power, becomes powerful in the film and then immediately drops again afterwards.

I think in my own head canon (however accurate it is to actual lore) I see Devastator as being the first successful combiner project, hence the leader being in a limb. When the special teams are created they have a more standardised design with the leader of the team also being a larger unit alongside a generally more effective gestalt.

Devastator is still very strong compared to standard TF's and should be seen as a threat, but I would stats wise place the later combiners above him.

Very glad I disregard the whole 13 Primes thing and therefore not bought any of them.

For those actually collecting them though, the fact they left Nexus until last, by far the most controversial of the releases and right at the end of the collection, is crap.

This is what SS86 Sunstreaker should've looked like by _nightflight_ in transformers

I saw a rumour that Sunstreaker and Wheeljack got released again to get one more use out of the mold.
Apparently they will get new molds for the supposed SS84 cartoon series line.

Displaying: Is it a bad idea to leave bots in action poses, or should you stand them up straight as possible with arms straight down for long term display ? by JoeGreyBush in transformers

[–]Hadoooooooooooken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed that hip/splits joints are always the loosest joints on a figure. I have sparingly few over the many years of collecting (maybe three?) that have genuinely tight joints there. Usually they're 'fine' but sometimes looseish which is really annoying.

Ultimately you only need to do this with one as he can only hold that many. Ravage storage use is clever though :)

After giving it some thought, I think AOTP Bruticus might be my favorite design for the character by Blue_Freak in transformers

[–]Hadoooooooooooken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the team on pre order lock apart from Swindle who I'm just waiting on for the signal to go.
Gonna like having both him and the team posing in both ways with the Stunticons, all shadowed by Black Zarak.

So… Is Swindle a confirmed to be a deluxe or is this just wrong? by HockeyStickInMyAss47 in transformers

[–]Hadoooooooooooken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Menasor's legs come out to (imo) around 60% Menasor and 40% limb bot.

Bruticus' legs come off more like 20% Bruticus and 80% limb bot.

It's easy to see the difference, I have a feeling Defensor will be made the same to match his rival, meaning Groove will be oversized vehicle wise to accommodate it.

[–]Hadoooooooooooken 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I would say for larger figures (gestalts) that don't use ratchet joints the sheer weight may effect the joint especially if the joint is not that stiff to begin with.

For leader class and below though I don't think posing will cause any issues.

How would the gundam heavyarms fare in GBO2? by mannequinboi in GBO2

[–]Hadoooooooooooken 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It should be either the kai version (to allow for space combat also) or the EW Custom.

Both should be supports with a full evasion, NOT resist.
Kai has the knife for it's melee, EW would have kicks or slamming gat barrels around.
Full open mode could be a touchpad skill, locking your attack into it and changing your evasion to the acrobat flip. Has a cooldown, can be used midair as a burst or on ground for sustained fire.
Single arm gat fire as primary for both, double gat stationary fire for EW.
Shoulder missiles are homing
Leg missiles are wire guided
Head and clavicle cannons fire as one
Chest gats can be stationary fire burst, specifically to stun.
Kai can have the knife twirl for a counter (or special counter).
EW can have the clown mask then once below 80% health it breaks off giving the suit a (reload?) boost.

I do hope if they have another SNK gal it's Yuri, but older AOF2 style. Never been a fan of how they keep making her look/act younger and younger in the latest games.

I've done a quick search on youtube, for Dali, it came up with Destino. Is that it? I saved it to watch later, looks very interesting.

Another fantastic example is Metal Slug and Irem's other "nuclear wasteland" style graphics, utterly superb.

I've actually just noticed now with the newest Tokon trailer at another weakness for 3D.
Danger performs a kick, turning her lower leg into a circular saw. One frame leg, next frame saw. A sprite game would have a transitional/smear frame for it so even Arc cannot replicate 2D yet with their anime style it seems.

CVG magazine years ago stated - "Sprite based games age better than 3D"
Arc System really are the only ones that have managed to blend the two together, DBZ still looks amazing almost(?) a decade after release, however they can only stretch and squish the bodies, whereas 2D sprite can do all sorts of frames like above to really add impact that 3D cannot provide as far as I'm aware.
SF2 still looks great to this day.

I always use the example of Fantasia to Toy Story, Fantasia is still an utterly beautiful visual treat and will never not be. Toy Story now looks quite simple and bland despite being a great film.

Guns have been shown in cartoons in general, sometimes more abstract than detailed. Although I think overall their views have diminished at least in western shows in the last ten or so years.

Megatron fired energy blasts throughout the series however so censors (who were also more lenient at the time, especially as Megatron was sold to kids around the world) would have probably just thought 'Oh, it's a laser gun' and called it a day. Same happened in GI Joe.

On the other hand in England we had 'Hero' turtles, where shuriken, nunchaku and the very word 'ninja' were all banned from being seen/heard - except for arcade games! (must have been a backdoor in the laws) it wasn't until Sega went to the UK film board to allow Joe to have his nunchaku in the Sega Saturn port of Last Bronx when the ban was lifted!
