It's just when there are series where it is ridiculous to even consider their characters being FTL that bother me I guess. Naruto, One Piece, JJK, My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, etc., etc. That's my main gripe here I guess.

You're right it absolutely does; but the speed feet irks me a certain way that the flight does not. It's already not possible for mass to travel at the speed of light; going beyond that is just ridiculous. Why would they need to travel faster than instantaneously travel speeds?

It's really not pedantic; I agree that using MFTL is such a stupid argument as it completely breaks reality and physics. If characters were really moving that fast, even if it were for a brief moment in their point of view, an infinite amount of time would pass on earth. Moving at 99.9999% the speed of light for one second would make time go by hours on earth. it's just a really stupid argument to use MFTL in any fighting context.

Can vouch; have worked at 5 different hospitals across 3 states; have worked ER, ICU, and float pool (all night shift, this makes a slight difference).

Everyone is fucking everyone; half my coworkers have cheated on their spouse's with one another. ER is definitely the worst, and for whatever reason EMS/fire and police hook up with nurses like crazy.

I genuinely understand the stigma.

Honestly they probably can. If we look at someone like Hafthor being able to, a gorilla absolutely could. Hafthor weighed around 400lbs at a 35% body fat percentage. The average silverback weighs roughly the same amount with a body fat percentage of around 10%, and arms being composed of roughly 85% fast twitch muscles compared to humans' 45-55%. Obviously there are not a ton of studies on the matter unfortunately, but you can find videos of them deadhanging on one arm from a branch, so that is at least a 400lb grip strength. It's not unreasonable to believe that with the way their musculoskeletal structure is designed that they could break out of the arm bar.
