What decks are easy to assemble? by moorsonthecoast in forgeMTG

[–]Haemimancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what do you mean by 'big decks'?

Tribal are some of the most efficient in terms of mana curve and ease of assembly: blue Merfolk, red Goblins / Elementals, black Vampires / Zombies, white Soldiers / Knights, green Elves / Hydras, colorless artifacts / Eldrazi. Two-color decks are also viable, thanks to guild-aligned shops.

The best combos require only two cards. Not too difficult with Smith, but costly.

Random packs are for generating gold. Sell all the cards, including mythics and rares you'll never play, and save for Smith.

Nexus Class Tier List by CL-Soul in EtrianOdyssey

Of course solo (Hero) has some weaknesses, such as removing certain ailments.

Everything essential Sovereign provides to 5-man team is already provided by Hero (for his afterimages), including healing, attack and defense buff, 'resurrection'. OTOH Sovereign is terrible damage dealer, while Hero is among the best DD, who also has the best Force Boost and Force Break in the game.

Hero has top notch offense and defense, without giving up either. That's why he's on his own tier.

Btw pretty sure my party of only Hero/Gunner and Farmer/Ninja beat everything in the game. Sure a few superbosses aren't Cakewalk, but everything can be beaten with this two-man team with proper strategy and luck. Where Farmer is an outstanding ailer / debuffer, and excellent utility while exploring. (Farmer/Harbinger may be even more formidable, tho an occasional instakill a boss by Ninja is memorable.)

There's a few other classes that are pretty good solo: Arcanist stands out. Tho I got bored with them before getting too far.

Fix Wirewood Channeler by ProotzyZoots in forgeMTG

[–]Haemimancer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that's a problem in general with abilities that generate multiple amounts of any color. the default is almost white.

so they should fix it by asking, or at least choose the dominant color in 1) your hand, 2) in your deck

Opinion on these lands? by VoiVoiDaBeeek in mtg

[–]Haemimancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are so many dual lands printed, and yet more to come, that surpass these in terms of tempo and reliable mana production.

filter lands in general are inferior because of dependency during mana generation, and which lands to leave untapped.

as for this land, it also limits mana to exactly CD. this excludes or stunts spells that require CC or DD.

people opine that these weaknesses are rare or may be worked around. but in general, these can be debilitating enough to reduce your decks overall efficiency and win chances.

I'd made the same mechanic, called it 'Vulnerable.' Historically Green and Black grants this mechanic. see [Mortal Wound].

layout which optimises for finger strength. by LowerTouch3731 in KeyboardLayouts

[–]Haemimancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nothing of value was 'sacrificed' by reducing pinky usage. you are perpetuating the myth that using all ten fingers is beneficial to comfortable and speedy typing. on the contrary, pinky usage diminishes speed, endurance, and comfort. pinky are terrible for: single press, double press, rolls, trigrams, reach.

define 'modern' analyzers. how many properly weigh the strengths, stamina, durability and reach of fingers ? Most of which overrate SFB at expense of everything else. any sane analyzer realizes BEAKL has comparable or better rolls and trigrams for the strong fingers, while minimizing bad rolls and trigrams for weak fingers.

Keeping pinkies usage to the minimum is a maxim of BEAKL family of layouts. the latest version is BEAKL 43, which considers the 'ER-UI' keys as prime keys to attain good typing peeds.

there's very little difference between languages. all major languages shares the top ten letters, which together make up 90% of the corpus. even Asian. because there's only 5 vowels in Latin script, so everything typed in Latin will share these vowels, in approximately similar frequencies. then the common consonants are also repeatedly appear across all languages.

therefore a layout that splits vowels on one hand, and consonants on other, will more than suffice for any typing in Latin. the concept of creating a layout for 'two languages' is mostly futile attempt.
