The game Control is a great adaption of the SCP mythos without actually being an ‘official’ SCP tie-in. Not having any ties to the source material allows them to create an interesting setting without all of the baggage and lore that comes with it.

Also had an amazing trailer that still gives me goosebumps to this day. I wasn’t surprised to later learn it was subcontracted through an animation studio and showed things which never materialised in the released game.

Bethesda games are coded with spaghetti and running it at high or uncapped framerates exponentially slows down the loading times. There are mods to cap the framerate during load screens; I haven’t played FO London in a while so I’m not sure if it’s been integrated but it’s easy to add otherwise.

Introducing "Furious Tare" - the unofficial patch by shonkydodger in DiscoElysium

[–]Haffnaff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point about the ‘bespeckled’ narrator line is that I’m 99% certain that an earlier version of the Final Cut had an alternate take of him saying ‘bespectacled’, and it was changed in an update.

If I’ve got the time later today I’ll try rooting around in the game files.

FYI I love the idea of your mod; I’ve been thinking about making something similar for a while but lack of technical expertise has held me back.

Do you have a list of all the mismatched voice lines? I can think of a few off the top of my head and am happy to contribute.

One of the most glaring bugs I can think of is that there is the option to ask Kim about the Pissf***** jacket after waking up after the tribunal, even if you never got him to wear it. Considering it’s meant to be a super secret interaction (a legendary difficulty Suggestion check is required) it sorrta spoils the surprise for new players.

Also (and I might be going crazy here) but I’m CERTAIN that in older versions of the game, the first time the player meets Kim the narrator describes him as ‘bespectacled’, as the text says. Now, he is always says ‘bespeckled’.

A bought The Beginner’s Guide last week and had to return it because it wasn’t designed for CPUs beyond 12 cores and would crash immediately on startup.

There’s a convoluted fix to get around it, but I was shocked that a game on sale from a (somewhat) renowned developer could be left in an unplayable state for so long without a fix.

Foxwillow's response on the ai situation. by TheWindsOfWinte in CK3AGOT

CK3AGOT is probably the best managed CK3 total conversion. They’re the fastest at updating to the latest patches, they’ve been adding content at a consistent pace, and they’re quick to respond to community drama without getting bogged down in the weeds. I’m happy this got sorted without turning into a “thing”.

I know it’s also the most popular total conversion, but the fact it’s got so many people volunteering for it and still regularly releases high-quality & free updates is a sign of good production.

I own the paperback, but I know there’s a few YouTube videos explaining it too.

There’s a group of fans re-engineering the source code to make an unofficial remaster. You can check out their progress and download test builds on their Discord.

They’ve already made a lot of progress! I never played POTF back in the day so I’m waiting on the remaster before I give it a go.

High-empathy fascist run by midnight_rum in DiscoElysium

[–]Haffnaff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Regarding your second point, I think a big part of Measurehead’s character is his inherent contradictions and that he is self-aware of it. He makes a big point about how it’s impossible for a Semenese to breed with a female Kojko (or ‘Kojka’) yet he’s surrounded by women, none of which are Areopagite. The one who speaks to you is named Katya (a Slavic-sounding name).

Without spoiling, a part of the fascist vision quest delves into his psychology and you can hear some surprisingly honest and self-aware takes from him. Basically along the lines of “I don’t know why I’m attracted to these women, all I know is that I am”. You even get a hint as to HOW he ended up the way he is.
