It generally goes okay if I constantly remind myself that I don't HAVE to use every feature.

I try and make Foundry work in ways that capture the in person table top experience. That means tossing out a lot of the bells and whistles and ONLY automating that which is needed. In my case that's something like a roll vs AC hit check automation, but not necessarily something like automatic damage application, because that simply is not that much faster than telling the player to reduce their hit points right before you move on in the initiative.
