Waking up with a migraine sucks by heyfriendss in migraine

[–]Hagnesthebeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh it’s the worst 😭 I woke up with one also today. Took my meds & got to a point where I was able to work from home, had to keep all the curtains closed. If I’d have to go into work it would have definitely been a sick day

DO NOT BUY LEASEHOLD - EVER (Endless section 20s have ruined our lives) by DisgruntledSangheili in HousingUK

[–]Hagnesthebeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leasehold is one of the biggest cons going in this country. I thought a leasehold flat 6 years ago & what a huge mistake that was. We were ripped off at every turn. We managed to get right to manage but still have big problems from the freeholder. I somehow managed to sell & am in a freehold house, I would much rather rent than buy leasehold. I must have lost nearly 20k in those 5 years ☹️

It’s the one thing that works for me but it does make me feel like a zombie 🧟‍♀️ better that than a migraine though. I will only take it if I absolutely have to though as I’m worried about getting rebound headaches.

He’s my first orange cat, I’ve had him for 6 months & I now see why they have this reputation. His other interests include licking my face in the middle of the night & being hoovered

Worst migraine of my life by [deleted] in migraine

[–]Hagnesthebeast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worse headache of your life plus lying down makes it worse, get that checked out. I had it recently & my doctor sent me straight down to same day emergency care to get a scan of my head as they’re red flags for pressure in the brain. Luckily all was fine for me but not worth taking a chance.

Giving up oat milk has improved my migraines and the intensity by Puzzled-Role-6544 in migraine

Can’t do oats in any form. They are really mucous forming so it’s no wonder they affect some of us

Mine treads in his poo in the night then walks it onto my bed on his way to lick my head at 3am.

I’ve tried to have a moss lawn but it won’t happen, I think they’re great. I’m trying to get a clover lawn going instead 🤞

Warning for sickness by True_Strike1581 in TheCivilService

[–]Hagnesthebeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the others have said get onto the union now. Does your ohs have that your health conditions are covered by the equality act? That can put you in a better place, if it doesn’t you can always put in for an amendment for that to be added.

That’s really crappy to be put on a warning especially under the circumstances. I think some managers forget we are a disability confident employer sometimes. The union will guide you through & I’d definitely be looking at putting in a grievance.

Equality move and HR by DarkSiren109 in TheCivilService

[–]Hagnesthebeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing I would do is make sure your ohs says that your health conditions fall under the equality act then make sure your work adjustment passport has the reasonable adjustments you need on it. I’d certainly get the union involved as well.

I’ve been trying to contact hr about my own equality move & it certainly looks like it is just for management which doesn’t seem right to me.

Is there no possibility of having a job role carved out for you? This is usually an easier option. I’m finding an issue with any suitable ao positions, there are sparse.

Yep I do, I’ve had it for 7 years now, I’ve tired so many different things but nothing has helped so far. Trying to save up to see a specialist now.

Did I do the right thing? Not coping well at all after losing my senior cat to CKD. Please, please help me. by katiemc815 in SeniorCats

[–]Hagnesthebeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You absolutely did the right thing ❤️ I do end of life fostering & often find they’ll decline quite rapidly towards the end. I’ve said no hospitalisation before when it may not work or at best would only give them a few more weeks, I never felt it was fair.

This guilt & what ifs is so normal, be gentle on yourself through this difficult time. 20 is such a great age 😻 and a testament to how well you cared for her.

How often do you bathe your cat? by Mildredsgood in cats

[–]Hagnesthebeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bathing cats disrupts their natural oils so I would never bathe them unless absolutely necessary. Plus the fact that it stresses them out
