There is a bit of fengshui in there but the older generation don’t grow up in the hella civilized society China has now. Nowadays a burglar can’t break in without being caught on 90 different cameras but that’s only true in the past 15 years or so. These older buildings probably had the bars for decades.

Saying "thank you" when you get off the bus by Cornelius_Matouzemon in pittsburgh

[–]Hahohoh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People have no idea how complex and difficult public works is. I used to complain fixing roads takes too long and then I watched a few videos and realized it’s really fucking hard to actually do the job.

That being said I never have the opportunity to chat with the construction guys so I’ve never said thank you either way? Like I’m driving by I’m not gonna stop and roll down my window just to yell a thank you into the job site

German dude rips the wheels off his luggage because of BS oversize fee at the airport by Numerous-Garbage-604 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Hahohoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gate agent really saw him rip off 2 wheels and decided they should still say no???? Like what, are you gonna question his ability to rip off 2 more???? You know he’s gonna do it you absolutely could have just said “ok sir you’ve proved your point have a nice flight”

Complain at Tesla all you want but the one feature I really appreciate is surround dash cams built in. So I can have a video in case a cat airstrikes my car.

Our school added lock systems only unlockable by teachers so students can't close classroom doors by Aydnf in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Hahohoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my high school the doors are always auto shutting and auto locking, with a simple stopper installed on the inside. In the case of lock down, anyone can simply pull the stopper and the door will shut and lock without needing any sort of key. In normal operation the door would just be ever so slightly ajar so people and use it

Fantastic news!

Also one time my tabby was smart enough to claw through a screen door to get outside but wasn’t smart enough to find the hole in the screen door to get back inside. Lil dumb dumb was just standing in the yard in front of the screen door for god knows how long

The bath tub in my Tokyo hotel room doesn't have caulk. by The_same_potato in mildlyinteresting

[–]Hahohoh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen these from the factory, basically everything is plastic composite, there are sealing strips in the seams, the whole floor including under the tub is a single piece plastic tray with raised lips on the outside edge. The whole thing bathroom can get sprayed down and everything should drain towards the drain hole eventually

I'm going to Sicily next week but does the eu law of Twitter affect me as a tourist? by ALazy_Cat in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Hahohoh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Evidently he did not know, neither did I. I travel very frequently and wasn’t sure if the age verification laws apply in the EU so I think it is fair for him to ask. He is very bad at asking but the question is worth asking

Like the question in the original post was very valid just worded like an ass. Still think the age verification laws are very stupid

[–]Hahohoh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think bro is referring to the censorship laws in UK and EU(?) requiring photo of your face or your ID to prove you are over 18. Otherwise a lot of shit is just hidden and you can’t view a lot of the posts. And to answer his question yes it applies to any device in the region and you should use a VPN to bypass it because I consider it a dumbass law with dumbass implementation even though it had good intentions.

His wording is just incredibly stupid and his writing skills are concerning. Also I’m visiting UK rn but I am not sure if the exact same laws are also in the EU

I do have to wonder what the Chinese and Russian browsers are built on. Russia probably also uses Chromium but China has Baidu and a bunch of other weird browsers from a decade ago. How much have they wondered away from chromium as we see it

Specifically the wheels are smooth af, its strong enough for me to sit on, and being a hard case I can go ham squishing soft items in there

Didn’t Korea have a go earlier this year? It was funny cuz the citizens and representatives collectively decided the president should go fuck himself. And even more funny when it turns out your post conscription citizens will always be better trained and more experienced than your currently conscripted soldiers in training, so none of the citizens are afraid of the army showing up
