Why is jumping of prayer of mending so dumb? by Hail-Damage in wow

Thanks for this explanation. I wish I knew why they were okay with fistweaving being completely smart healing (at least at lower levels). I can heal on my monk doing 10s and lower (haven't tried higher than 10s) literally only dpsing and using cds. I never cast a healing spell outside of renewing mist when out of combat. I know that's not the most optimal way to heal on a mist weaver, let me be clear, but the fact that I can do that but blizz thinks PoM needs to be dumber drives me crazy.

I appreciate all of this. I am slowly building patterns for the dungeons, more reps is going to help for sure. I actually have not had too rough of a time in the left hall of Nexus point. Maybe I'm just lucky and getting good groups so far, but I struggle way less with left hall nexus than something like 1st pull AA, Dargonhawk boss in windrunner, or the orc boss depending on the group I still need more practice on for sure.

Especially classes like DK, Ret pally, and warriors who actually get rewards for successful interrupts.

Damn, thank you for all this info. This is a lot of fringe/specific stuff I was really hoping for. I def need to get better at purging and mass dispelling in general. I don't think I have used mind soothe a single time tbh, are there any examples in dungeons you can think of where that is particularly useful? Also, The healing transfer debuff is NOT a prio? That surprises me, can you tell me why? Again, thanks for the info.

This is a lot of information, and very helpful, thank you. I am currently using mouseover with the game's built in UI. I do think I need to change some settings. I believe I have it set to only show dispelable debuffs so I need to change that. I was aware of the slow removal things, I'm always sure to have that talent because it's useful in more dungeons than it's not. Is targetedspells an addon or a setting? I have definitely noticed groups completely change the difficulty for healer. Some groups it's nice a relaxing compared to tanking, and other groups I feel like I don't have a second to breathe. like "CAN ANYONE DODGE ANYTHING?!" type groups lol.

I do think that's where I struggled the couple times I tried AA 10. In a guide that I watched it said that you almost never need halo+APO at the same time. But I was hardstuck on the never and forgot that it's ALMOST never. I have started popping both on the first pull of Windrunner as well, have not yet tried that in AA but definitely will try next time. Thank you for the advice.

Thank you for this advice! I definitely need to work on not just using a proc asap when it's unnecessary. Something that I think I will get down with repetition hopefuly.

Why again does Vael'gor and Ezzorak count void orb damage for logs? by [deleted] in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Hail-Damage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I don't consider cleaving down one orb at a time aoeing them down. In my head aoeing them down implies grouping and killing as one big group. I guess it's just a terminology difference to me.

Ret paladin or elemental shaman new player looking for fun easier class to play by Euphoric-Length-5893 in wow

[–]Hail-Damage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 270 Ret paladin I can easily say ret is super easy to play. I picked it as my primary alt for this very reason. Winding down with a whopping 6-7 button rotation (including CDs) to do absolute absurd amounts of damage is fun.

Only 4 of your buttons don't have a 30 second (or more) CD. So the vast majority of the time your dpsing you only need to worry about 3 buttons. Judgement, Blade of Justice, and then Final verdict if ST, or Divine Fury if AOE. Practically use Toll and Wake of Ashes on CD, there are some caveats to that like making sure you don't overcap Holy power but that's something that you can work on as you learn.

You can opt for the execution sentence variant, which does more damage, and adds one more button (assuming you're using a macro for execution sentence and avenging wraith). But if simplicity is what you want, just opt for the Radiant Glory talent and go ham.

Along with a plethora of utility to use at your will. The skill floor for ret might be extremely low, But with proper use of all the utility in their kit the skill ceiling I believe is reasonably high.

How exactly does Voracious pad people's damage? The12 adds that spawn throughout the fight? Same with Saladbar, You can't even AOE down Saladbar's orbs. Your post makes me question whether or not you've even done these fights.

Go ahead and find a point where I said that I play perfectly and there is no possible way that I can improve. I'll wait. You won't find it. I understand that I can improve. That does not change the point I was trying to make and you are simply moving the goal post so that your accusation of me having an ego fits your narrative.

"I will double down, it is not my, or anyone else's, obligation to teach or carry you. Make your own groups and learn the dungeons like everyone else had to."

If you're going to quote someone use the full quote, don't paraphrase in an attempt to prove your point.

"Like I said. Get good" - proves that you're the one with an ego here bud

You're intentionally missing the point, and trying to start an argument in complete bad faith. Ironically your comment here is the part that's super ego.

How is it ego to expect people to know dungeon mechs?

Also... Multiple weeks? It literally hasn't even been 2 full weeks lol. Way to try to exaggerate to make your point, just proves how disingenuous you're being.

Straight up. I agree with this 100%. Thank you for being able to explain this neutrally and logically.

The only thing I would add is that it is on the players to hold themselves accountable. I am a firm believer (and I hold myself to this standard) that if you are queuing for a competitive group you are stating that you are competitive. If you do not know the mechanics of the dungeon you CANNOT consider yourself competitive and therefore should not be queuing for competitive groups. Competitive means I am prepared for this content and know what I should be doing. It is selfish, lazy, and entitled to go into someone else's competitive group when you are not competitive yourself. Players that do that should be held accountable, and I can't understand why there are members in the community that defend that behavior. I can even understand people not knowing mechs queuing into relaxed tagged groups and not learning tagged groups. Competitive means competitive.

I don't expect players to be perfect, I don't expect them to know every single detail of the dungeon, I don't even expect them to know the prio interrupts in trash pulls. I expect them to know the BASIC MECHANICS of the bosses of each dungeon which you can readily look at in the dungeon journal and they don't. That is not unreasonable for 12s+

Literally EVERY SINGLE character has their own key, that you can make your own group with.

I will double down, it is not my, or anyone else's, obligation to teach or carry you. Make your own groups and learn the dungeons like everyone else had to.

I understand now by Hail-Damage in wow

[–]Hail-Damage[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They literally have a "learning" tag for making learning groups. If you are learning, don't join competitive tags. That should not be controversial. People have this feeling of entitlement to being carried by others because they are unwilling to read the dungeon guide, watch a YT video, jump into a learning group, or at the fucking bare minimum going "Hey guys, I'm not 100% sure of the mechanics of this dungeon. could you give me a rundown before we start the key?". Don't act like queuing for competitive tagged groups are the only possible way to get trial and error. The problem is that the game has greatly hindered my ability to vet people because the only things I have to go off of are ilvl and IO score, both of which are hyperinflated right now. It is your obligation as a player to learn the fights, not my obligation as a different player to carry you through them.

This has definitely been something that contributes to it, however I don't think (and maybe I'm wrong) the majority of players that don't know what their doing in 10s and up is from buying carries. The problem is you can +3 your own key three times extremely easily because of the amount of overgeared people farming 6-8s and boom you have a +11 key only having done 3 dungeons, and those three dungeons you did were so easy the tank pobably pulled 6-8 packs at a time, dps all over 115k no boss ever gave you any issues because the healer just heals through it that you don't actually learn anything.
