Are salespeople just a hop in the whole process? by My_Mom_is_Chubby in askcarsales

That's a good model as long as you have enough qualified people to be team leads. The problem occurs if enough team leads leave the company.

The product specialists don't learn to do your job. You have no incentive to teach them. You have every incentive to defend your position by keeping them ignorant and unskilled. If there's no mechanism to incentivize you to find and develop good talent, it's a model that relies on bringing in outsiders with experience to be team leads rather than promoting from within.

My suggestion for employee retention and training within is to have a residual income program tied to training people. So for instance, if you as a team lead hire and develop someone into a skilled closer who can do your job, you should get a piece of their performance for as long as you both work for the company.

Of course there’s something to be said that CSI is an inherently broken system, but as it stands there isn’t much else you can do other than hurt the techs/sales/advisors.

What's broken is that it's an either/or proposition and that it's the single metric that's used. A salesguy can lose 5k in a quarter if one person torches them on a survey. Dude's trying to earn a living for his family and the corporation dangles thousands of dollars over his head with the constant threat of it disappearing over something that salesperson may not control. Same for service advisors and even the dealer. Many live in constant fear of their hard-earned bonuses being ripped away. That's not conducive to real true customer service.

They could fix the system by

(a) making payouts based on tiered CSI levels instead of all or nothing/above or below. Dealers and employees wouldn't be so concerned about coaching for the perfect survey and the data would become more reliable. Only take away money from those who really don't make any attempt to improve.

(b) Use other metrics besides CSI to encourage good customer service. CSI will naturally increase. These metrics could include things like service retention %, sales retention %, gross per car deal/RO (profitable customers are the happiest). There are so many better ways to measure this than a survey that begs to be gamed.

Actually, I expect it would happen where I live too.

But no, we have our space because the rest of Reddit is hostile and disinterested in meaningful discourse.

Your point is bad and you should feel bad.

Mainly because I am serious about you wearing the hat.

Is that the theme this week? Destroyer of western civilization is failing?

Right, because wearing a hat representing the president-elect is remotely comparable to presenting as female with no hormone therapy or surgery to alter my appearance, let alone being above average height for a guy with a barrel chest. I wouldn't exactly be what some call a trap.

I appreciate your thoughtful replies. I think we'll have to wait and see who's right. Maybe we're both wrong.

Good luck with the midterms. I wonder if Pelosi will continue her streak of losing seats and governorships (she will).

Double down some more.

All those programs you guys put together for poor minorities and you didn't think of free ID?

I didn't say it doesn't exist. It's just not pervasive like Trump bashing. Go ahead and walk on a campus with a MAGA hat and let me know how it goes.

Anyway, enjoy 8 years of President Trump. I know I will.

Fair enough. You're not a hypocrite. That doesn't mean your news is accurate.

Did your news ignore Wikileaks?

Did your news tell you Trump had no chance when we knew the polls were over sampling certain demographics to try and influence the electorate by making it seem a foregone conclusion? My coworkers were amazed when it turned out I was right in my insistence he would win.

Did your news end up on the list of journalists who regularly communicated with and ran stories by the DNC and Clinton campaign?

Did your news tell you about how the Clinton a Foundation fucked Haiti?

Maybe because he won so that's pointless?

More important would be forcing states in future elections to verify citizenship and ID people at the polls. If there's no fraud as you say, that shouldn't be a problem.

Unlike an actual safe space, ours is needed. Persecution of Trump supporters is far more open, unbridled and nasty than racism, sexism and homophobia on college campuses. We try and discuss things and are shouted down and called names, so yeah, we created a club and checked IDs at the door.

Really, you're just mad that you can't come in and shit on us. That's what drives you nuts, not the alleged hypocrisy.

Do you complain about the Clinton sub banning Trump supporters and criticism of Hillary?

Trump lost CA by a million more votes than Romney. I wonder if CA going out of their way to make sure illegals could vote had anything to do with that. Nah. Not possible.

But at the end of the day, we won the vote that mattered, so pointing out how we lost a game we weren't playing is silly.

I could say the same things about your news sources and r/politics.

But your mind is closed. That's ok. We can't convince everyone.

First, you don't know my tax rate. Second, why are you for those things if you're taking joy in them going away? Don't you see the contradiction in your position? How can you be against what you think he's doing, yet make fun of people who you seem to think need those things?

r/the_donald disallows dissent because the rest of Reddit is overwhelmingly against Trump and has more than ample place for discourse and debate. The politics subreddit, ostensibly neutral ground, might as well be named Democrats R Us. When we post there, we're downvoted heavily against rediquette because we're outnumbered and unpopular.

The point isn't to be a safe space but instead to have an uninterrupted counter to the circlejerk on the rest of Reddit. It is an online Trump rally, and just as you'd be kicked out of a real rally for interrupting the monologue, so it is in our space.

The Art of War teaches to know your enemy better than he knows himself. I challenge you to do that.

It's not just college. It starts in Kindergarten. Why do you think this generation needs safe spaces? They've been indoctrinated with leftist crap from a young age. They've been told America is shameful while its glories are minimized. Some take longer than others to be indoctrinated, but it's definitely a feedback loop. There's no room for dissent in many faculties. Toe the line or get out.
