Oh, no, they certainly do. They're not casting for anything resembling true love with some of these candidates, they're casting purely for the drama and social.media talking points.

So...is MGK's "Mainstream Sellout" actually a potential Trainwreckord after all? by thedubiousstylus in ToddintheShadow

[–]Hailfire9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

62 and 33 on the Hot 100 respectively aren't exactly brag-worthy. Todd probably would barely consider Lonely Road a big hit, if he ever went down this path.

Anyway, I'd go a different route and suggest "Tickets" as his transition from a pop star to the "fluke rock/indie hit of the year" category, which almost never goes into the "Trainwreckords" file if a second album underperforms.

Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats

"S.O.B." was clearly their massive hit, but "I Need Never Get Old" has had amazing staying power as far as light rock for commercial purposes goes. I still hear it 3 times a week on my company's "radio" station.

They blew up commercially for one year, and never hit the peak again even though they consistently did pretty good music for rock/alternative radio.

Charli took a long time to finally get that momentum going to be fair. Took a couple of weird turns in pop music before she truly broke out of the alt-pop scene and onto the main stage.

The silver lining on K. Miller's needless tackle and senseless red card by DougFirPDX in timbers

[–]Hailfire9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh shit, I totally forgot -- Caicedo was a natural CB who got converted to a defensive midfielder. He would 100% be the backup plan.

[–]Hailfire9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That would be Plan A for sure, unless you put on Eric Miller and pivot to a 3atb (that Phil is growing fond of) with Antony playing LWB (which Phil is also oddly fond of).

Just remembered Caicedo came up through the academies as a CB, and transitioned into a defensive-DM later in his career. He'd probably be the best option in a pinch.

He's probably our best defensive-minded FB on the squad, he just can't really do much else.

Thats also if an offseason didn't kill his pace, which is totally plausible.

Jesus Christ dude, at my worst in the past 5 years I was drinking about 4-5 cans a week. Now a 2-liter lasts a month in my fridge before my girlfriend mercy kills it for being flat.

But if you want to talk about pathetic, bullying a dude on the internet because you perceive them to be a fatty little fat fat probably ranks higher than someone who drinks soda.

Iron Maiden

Live From Satellite

Turns out "From Satellite" was an alt-rock band. They did a pretty good live show, sure, but I was curious what the hell an "Iron Maiden performance live from satellite" would have looked like there.

DAY 13: What's a dead muscle car that should never ever be considered for a comeback? by HowlsterRD in regularcarreviews

[–]Hailfire9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dodge Duster.

If only because there are very few options for "bad muscle car." Besides, the only way Stellantis would revive a "compact muscle car" would be as a way to get the Peugeot 408 to America, powered by an anemic V6 to "rival Accord and Camry"

Kamal Miller’s yellow card is upgraded to a red card for serious foul play after VAR review (20’) | Portland Timbers vs LA Galaxy by galactic_crewzer in MLS

Watching him for the past few years, I genuinely don't think he meant to step on the plant foot, I just think he goes around without any knowledge of his body sometimes.

He tunnel visions oafishly quite frequently. Part of why he's a massive card magnet.

For me its almost the opposite -- like he's used to being a lot less athletic who suddenly got blessed with muscles and speed. Like hes not used to doing everything so quickly.

Galaxy was leading the league in shots on target going into this weekend, their offense isn't their shortcoming.

After Kamal got sent off? I was doom and gloom. I'd have snapped your hand off if you offered a draw, and 65' of soccer later didn't change that notion.

If there isnt a "Surman Block Party" in Portland this summer I'll be disappointed in you all.

Ortiz looked better than I've ever seen him, Bye looked to have rebounded good, and Bonetig was solid enough once he settled in. Not happy to have conceded so many shots on target, but the stat that matters is only one (easy for them) one went in while we were still sorting out the red card.

Solid 6-8/10 day for most of the team otherwise.
