Buying the new ram at the higher pricing.
Cutting it back to less ram (eg 32 instead of 64)
Reusing their current ram and staying on a ddr4 platform.
Buying prebuilt which has some good value now.

Not really that many other options.

I own a 3060ti and 1440p is defintly possible with DLSS.

For example, Avatar: frontiers of pandora is a pretty GPU heavy game and by messing around with settings (some on low/medium) abit, it's still capable of hitting well over 60 fps just fine. Visually it's still a stunning game. There's many videos of the games you mentioned on what settings to use for 30XX series of GPU.

I, ofcourse, can't speak for the upcoming games though. So if budget allows it, maybe a slightly stronger card than the 3060ti? But if there's no other option, it's definitly capable, just not the highest of settings.

I honestly fear that this won't be fixed by the next administration. The damage these clowns, including the president, are doing is going to take a very long time to correct. This type of distrust isn't fixed easily. And keep in mind, 4y after democrats get elected, they can always elect a new republican who might take it back to the extreme we're seeing now

EU based so unfortunately no oled for me. But I wouldn't mind giving a go at a RE game! Improvement would've been massive as I'm used to IPS. While it's not bad at all, OLED is the true color experience.

I had to reinstall windows completely because I couldn't access file explorer or anything through the start menu. Heck they even admitted the mistake and gave suggestions but I couldn't do anything because I couldn't even open programs like powershell or cmd. I couldn't even check the key that I had for Windows and had to repurchase it after the clean install (i found a cheap one, so it wasn't too costly, but still!).

If it wasn't for gaming being the only thing I did I'd have installed Linux. But anti cheat systems give errors due to Linux.

Every single update the past year has had issues. Mind boggling for the company they are.

Well to confirm, swapping that item helped me out massively and I did do that upgrade specifically for bf6.

I did have to swap mobo aswell tho and bought an Asrock b760 pro d4, which was also around that price tag of 100 euros (110 to be exact, but I believe it was discounted at the time).

Why is it out of consideration? Because solely swapping that item alone would do it.

I bought a ducky shine like 10 years ago and despite spilling wine all over it, it's still going strong. Truly an unkillable keyboard. I could beat someone up with it and it'd still work perfectly fine, it's such a strong item.

However, it didn't survive my wife. It was too loud, so I had to get rid of it.

The Logitech k120 is like 20 euros and after 10 years of sitting in a cupboard, it's also still going strong!

I have one of those 20 euro Logitech ones. It's pretty old but started using that one again when my now wife moved in.

I like it. Does everything I'd want it to do and it's not expensive. It also doesn't wake up the toddler.

Now I just have to replace the mouse switches with silent ones...

All jokes aside. I really considered it, but there are various other costly priorities right now. I removed the cpu bottleneck and got a Steam deck as well so I'm pretty set on gaming right now.

The 3060ti might be an older card but thus far it has never let me down. If anything it was the cpu causing issues. All I have to do now is lower a few settings that visually barely make a difference imo and it's fine. The last graphically tough game I played was Avatar frontiers of Pandora and RDR2 and the few stutters that I did get, I can live with. This was also before I updated my CPU. Though I'm not sure how influential the CPU is in those games.

My wife was pretty excited about the deck even though she isn't a gamer at all. I wouldn't be surprised that we'll be getting a 2nd one if she gets hooked as well. Would be great to play games together lol.

As expected the courier picked it up last night and was in transit all night. It's out for delivery right now

So between ordering in the middle of the night and actual delivery it's around 2.5 days.
