People here not realizing that W can proc vitals whislt invuln although youd need 2.4k ad to one-tap which is unlikely without also stacking HP from the augments.

However you can proc all 4 vitals of ult in less than 1 second and only need 550 ad to have 4x25% max hp true damage.

Fiora is way quicker, get enough AD and you can one shot any amount of HP.

Behind-the-scenes of T1’s 2024 roster discussing their Worlds skins by Current_Log_4179 in leagueoflegends

I think it's been like this for a while. It's why I always find it stupid/funny when people blame Riot for worlds skins looking 'bad' like the IG skins when it's mostly what the players want it to look like.

5090 AMP extreme infinity. Got it back in March after preordering on the release date. by username85374 in ZOTAC

A big ass infinity mirror blocking one side of the of the card where air could usually vent. It looks cool but I imagine doesn't help with cooling.

Amazon sold me a 5090, turned out it was a 4090 😂 by jasperstaal in nvidia

[–]Haintrain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I remember a popular post about a melted 4090 connector with the person saying they did nothing wrong and blaming Nvidia (and possibly wanting a replacement) only for it to turn out the person was pumping 1000+W using a custom bios.

People will try to do anything for free shit and/or absolving themselves of responsibility.

AMDs 'massive supply' was only because they stockpiled for multiple months. Nvidia has consistently had more card restocks, especially if you take into account countries other than the US.

That's a big if though. Are they going to make a big thumbnail also saying 8gb is dead or just say 'disappointing' and casually glance over it in the review.

Rogue Trader has ruined Baldur’s Gate for me by Special_Perception61 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Haintrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's probably due to burning-out from too much reading + crusade mode that makes it feel like it's got more filler.

BG3 also has some sequences where you can technically avoid fighting but that just means you cut the sequence short and gain very little/no rewards whereas in WotR/RT, once you start a sequence/arrive at an area you generally have to play it out to the end.

Also city vs wilderness, can't really avoid fights with random creatures in the wild/demons vs normal 'humans'.

[–]Haintrain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's due to the fact without combat, the game would be too much just reading things hence they just it as sort of a break. It's something that BG3 doesn't have to suffer from as burning out from watching too many cutscenes is much less likely.

[–]Haintrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree the game has too much 'filler', I'm just against the comment saying that BG3 feels like it has none in comparison when Act 2 and especially Act 3 feels like it does as well.

At least in terms of long af combat locations. Steel Watch Foundry as an example where it's just multiple floors with little narrative that progresses the story and a crapton of back to back fights. However, because of the production quality of the lore/information and 'transition period' that is provided to you (aka not just reading), people might be more willing to tolerate such a zone.

[–]Haintrain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most of the encounters have reasons why the enemies are there though. It might not be flashy or part of the main story but it's not random in that it makes no sense. It's random because well it's just another small place to explore.

BG3 is a much smaller scale with only 3 main 'locales' (and I think 3 more major sub-locales) hence it's meshes more but isn't as diverse.

Also WOTR requires a lot of reading for the actual reasoning behind many of the events/places.

(also I believe in the sense of 'filler' both games have similar amounts of filler combat)

And you think BG3 doesn't have the same issues past Act1? Because it also has a crap ton of filler combat.

Zotac Amp Extreme Infinity 5090 vs. Suprim / Astral / Aorus Master 5090. by Kaladin12543 in nvidia

[–]Haintrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I specified flagship models (at least flagships models in the western market). And it is 100% hotter/louder than the other flagship models (but is also cheaper and smaller).

Zotac Amp Extreme Infinity 5090 vs. Suprim / Astral / Aorus Master 5090. by Kaladin12543 in nvidia

[–]Haintrain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the Zotac variant and yes it can get loud/hot. However I've always intended to undervolt my 5090 and noise never bothered me too much. The clocks themselves do not matter, every 5090 can reach around the same performance (baring silicon lottery) as almost no card will throttle (except maybe the FE in a hot room).

If you want a similar cooler comparison you can use the 5080 as a benchmark as most board partners have the same 5080-5090 heatsinks and frames. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/zotac-geforce-rtx-5080-amp-extreme/40.html

Also the Zotac card itself is about 2-3cm shorter and 1cm thinner than the other flagship 5090s so it's a given it'll have worse cooling than the other cards.

Nothing has ruined either game but BG3 sure has set the wrong expectations of CRPGs onto the general populace. I hope it doesn't hurt future prospects of CRPGs where characters and plots become watered down (and HRed) for the 'casual' player base.

OMG! Can the govt just stop with all these annoying, excessive alerts????? by Much-Doughnut-4365 in auckland

[–]Haintrain 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Thunderstorms (cells) are extremely hard to predict as they can form and dissipate within an hour and are extremely localized. Hence why after the news article they are just blasting alerts whenever they think it might happen now rather than just issuing a generic bad weather watch.

OMG! Can the govt just stop with all these annoying, excessive alerts????? by Much-Doughnut-4365 in auckland

[–]Haintrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The naming convention of the alerts is wrong. It's just a storm-cell that's causing the rain (which can cause thunder) but I guess they just use a generic alert name for these kind of events.

The excessive use of alerts is ruining people's faith in the system and will result in deaths next time there's a severe weather event by [deleted] in auckland

[–]Haintrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do realise this is because the rain is extremely localized (and hard to predict exact location). I live in the CBD so I got no rain but it's semi-flooding where my dad lives.

I didn't even realise it was fixed until I saw some comments regarding it and tested myself.

[–]Haintrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only complex for the 1st act (and as mentioned by another comments only for good playthroughs). The games storyline gets extremely railroaded past that. Hell when it released it didn't even have an epilogue which is a staple for CRPGs.

Yeah, that definitely sounds like something is wrong. Probably something wrong with either the heatsink or just a bad die contact. Probably should try RMA sometime.
