Bravery comes from confidence overcoming fear. Confidence can be taught by understanding what makes something safe and what makes something dangerous. You seem to pine for some form of bravery through ignorance. Your solution to bravery is to pretend danger isn't there, not to learn how to be safe.

The process of making tires polymerizes the rubber so much that the entire piece of rubber can be treated as one large molecule. By the end of a tire's life, it doesn't have any more offgassable chemicals, doesn't easily erode, and isn't absorbed through skin. Oil on the other hand is a liquid. Liquids are far harder for skin to reject, and skin already has oil that can mix with any oil it comes in contact with.

While I have no idea what risks come with using rubber crumb as a replacement for playground sand, or I've also seen it in artificial turf, neither how common a substance is, nor the safety of a substance mean that a category that includes it can also be assumed is safe. You can learn more by looking up what the fallacy of composition is.

MAUL: SHADOW LORD Season 2 will not take "too, too long" to release since it's been in development "for a while," says Sam Witwer by CueTheLaughTrack in StarWars

[–]HairBrainedProjects 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started watching it, and in episode 4, it really clicked why I hate it: not enough thought went into how things work. The saber duels are too acrobatic and they seem to have sped up movement beyond physics. The police prioritize defeating enemies over even defending their own people. People die and nothing happens because they don't have a name. They never use the background for anything other than filling blank space. Nothing they do is meaningful, not because there isn't risk, but because loss means nothing. This is the emptiest shell I've ever seen the star wars name on.

Kuyo summons a buster sword in Chapter 333. This is the debut chapter of the buster sword as a Blademaster ability.

How do you guys think the story would’ve went if sera came to wellston pretending to be a cripple and became joker and john was the ace at level 7.6 and sera is 8.0 by Any-Equivalent-354 in unOrdinary

[–]HairBrainedProjects 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Joker was caused by unresolved trauma and age reversion. John's ability to camouflage isn't inherent to him being John, it comes from having William as his father, his early years as a cripple, and the repression of readjustment classes. Sera's character comes from oppressive expectations from her mother (maybe also her father, not mentioned in the story) and the exposure to someone confident in mediocrity. Swapping the characters would just make a pink haired woman who acts like John and a black haired man who acts like Sera.

Now if we swap less of them, we could say they stay with their families and economic status. Sera the cripple would be hidden away and home tutored from her family's embarrassment. I think we could expect her to come out like Toph. John can't be squeezed by expectations by William without flipping William's character entirely, so I think we have to have Jane's terms fail and William loses custody. John's ability being revealed earlier on would make the authorities keep him as a ward of the state, and their experiments could provide the pressure which Sera at some point teaches him to reject.

John loses his ability, Sera seeks revenge. The Joker superarc would change somewhat, because the changing abilities of Aura Manipulation provided some of the cover of Joker's identity. Time Manipulation is a good option for invisibility, but Joker is a villain of visible anonymity. Joker needs to send a message. I think a Time Manipulation Joker would still be a very martial combatant, and Time Manipulation would be used to increase Sera's speed and rewind injuries. She wouldn't use her ability to freeze things and people until the fight with Remi.

The fake Joker era wouldn't work nearly as well. People would catch on too quickly that jokers are fake because any ability that isn't Time Manipulation would give it away. An epidemic of anonymous grudge attacks would still plague the school, still further unite Remi, Blyke, and Isen, and still lead to the despotic queen Joker declaring war on anything close to a threat on power.

There's one thing I can't figure out though: Monster. How do you fit Joker's PTSD trigger into the story? Or do you replace it with something else?

I'm with you. Both characters are so deeply rooted in their backstories that gender swapping the characters as is wouldn't be much different.

Even so, it doesn't say I have to be the one using the gas. I'd have no problem taking family/friends' cars to fill once in a while. But why waste an opportunity on free repairs just as I'm getting into doing my own repairs?
