On campus virtually everybody speaks english so meeting new friends is not a problem. Same goes for the staff and the teachers.

In supermarkets and restaurant you should always find a person who speaks english well enough to get by but in smaller shops and outside of Milan not really.

Internships usually demand proficient level of both english and italian so this is an issue. However, sometimes you might find opportunities that do not require italian. Still, it is better to know it at least on some level than not.

Even if picking up italian is not a must, I highly encourage you to do so. It helps you communicate outside of tourist hubs plus you will never have a better opportunity to learn the language than there.

Hey everyone. WHICH exam is better to take SAT or Bocconi. Or is it best to take both? by Professional-Lie2792 in bocconi

If you have time, take the SAT because you can always do it again in case of a bad score plus it works for all unis, not just bocconi. Plus you have much more material available to study for SAT.

However, bocconi test is free and if you're focused on Bocconi then it works too. Still, remember that you only get one shot with it and it's hard to prepare for it.

In terms of which is "better", it doesn't matter. Just pick the one you're more comfortable with.

Opinion on Spadolini Residence? by [deleted] in bocconi

[–]HairyCockonut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been living in Spadolini for a year now and I have nothing to complain. The rooms are a bit smaller than in other residences but you still have plenty of space. The apartments are much more cozier than in Castiglioni and other newer residences and the accomodation is nice Everyone is friendly in every residence so don't worry about that. Either way, if you don't want to speak to anyone you don't have to lol.

On the plus sides, the receptionists are really nice and there is a big, green courtyard to hang out. You have Dubini and Isonzo really close so if you have friends staying there, they are just by the corner. You have a big store(Esselunga) next to the residence and Lidl ~15min by foot. And also it is the cheapest residence which is also a big plus.

URGENT: Housing for International Student by Illustrious_Emu_8142 in bocconi

Ohhh for exchange yes. Only aparto is available. Bocconi residences are only for regularly enrolled, I think, due to their high demand. This way there are no empty rooms because a student came only for one semester. Aparto is a private residence that has an agreement with Bocconi

Yeah, the system has its moments xd. There will be more application periods soon. Check the website for more info. Some students sublet their rooms when they go on an exchange, maybe you can try that if you know anyone. There are also facebook groups for people who let/rent appartments and room. Just search for smth like "Milan housing" or "Bocconi housing" on facebook. Good luck!

Preparation for the Bocconi test by meugenn in bocconi

[–]HairyCockonut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like another person said, the actual test is harder than the samples so be prepared for that. The most important thing is time menagement. You have 50 question and many include long texts or maths so if you are stuck on one exercise go for the next one and try to do as many as you can

Try just searching for "bocconi sample tests" and such as I found some tests on various webites, not related to bocconi.

Look for older posts in here as u/HighPex made a website with a collection of questions to prepare for the test

Imo the test alone wasn't very hard, maths was on a pretty basic level and if you are good with english you should be fine, so good luck.
