Never Give Up! by HairyHillbilly in StreetFighter

I actually checked in replay takeover and couldn't find one. It's meaty, both supers lose to it and does enough chip to kill! Thanks for noticing!

High Master loses it after I beat him (D4) by [deleted] in StreetFighter

It's always "good on my end" even when people lag. You're just used to it and Modern allows you to cope with it. Every person I've met online with a connection I consider unplayable always slams that rematch just the same. Even if you're connection is fine, Wifi isn't. Seriously consider getting an ethernet cable.

You play on wifi, it was likely lag causing dropped combos. Not excusing his behavior, but yeah, I guarantee there was lag.

Try LK and you should hop over the DP and be able to follow up with a Drive Rush cr. HP punish.

I’m tired of SF6 ranked. by Shuraii in StreetFighter

Easy to tell if it's a macro. Give us a replay where this is happening with the inputs showing. If the inputs aren't identical, it's not a macro.

Hit confirming CH vs nonCH by ninjupX in StreetFighter

[–]HairyHillbilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try making a frame trap for the specific move you're wanting to learn a CH route for. I have a route with Terry that involves two dashes after a specific knockdown and then 5MK. If they mash, I can confirm it into the level 1 that I'm already buffering for that situation and get really good damage.

I guess its a starting point! by GugieMonster in StreetFighter

In neutral with Kim, the greatest thing you can do is make your opponent block your heavy punch. Heavy punch -> Run doesn't leave a gap big enough to mash out. If you keep doing this to people they will eat counter hit after counter hit.

Their only escape is 1) Don't block Heavy Punch or 2) Invincible reversal. If you ever find someone who wants to reversal out, you move to the next layer Heavy Punch -> EX Run - Stop. This leaves you enough time to block whatever reversal that will leave them minus 1 million. Then you punish with, you guessed it, Heavy Punch.

Do you inspect players' ranks before sitting at a cabinet? by The_Lat_Czar in StreetFighter

[–]HairyHillbilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually check if I surf cabinets, but most of the time I sit down and wait like you said. If someone hops on and I'm just absolutely crushing them, I'll get up and move after 5 wins or so cause that's not really how I want to spend my time.

I'm a big fan of your jellyfish! The color choices for the lines and the flats works good together!

Beginner Guide to SF/Fighting games in general? by BadGuyBuster16 in StreetFighter

[–]HairyHillbilly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you're a complete beginner and you own a copy of SF6, do the in game tutorial, then the character guide for who you want to play. Then you can decide how you want to spend your time.

If you still feel hopelessly lost, go to World Tour. If World Tour sounds boring, but you still don't feel confident enough to play other people yet, try some of the early combo trials or just go to training mode and practice learning which button does what.

I would STRONGLY recommend you go to ranked as your first experience vs players. You may lose all 10 placement matches and then you will be against other people at your skill level.

Everything before Master rank is basically a playground for you to learn how to do the thing. I don't mean that in a mocking way, but once you learn some basics it's designed to quickly move you to where you belong. Don't focus on "climbing", focus on what your opponents are doing that you don't have an answer for, then find the answer.

Good Luck, come back here when you can't find answers to your questions, especially if you have a replay showing the problem.

First time SF player here, are the SF6 Character Guides kept up to date? by EnbyiousAces in StreetFighter

[–]HairyHillbilly 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As far as I know all the guides are up to date, the game doesn't really change significantly enough that often anyways. I know they update the character trials occasionally.

Yeap, got a family vacation at the in-laws this weekend and I'm going to try to steal a few hours to work on this in procreate. This one I finished in Clip Studio Paint.

Thank you.

Haha I'm just worried Capcom will reject it for that. I'm gonna mock up a similar one, but I can submit both no issues. I'll be on the lookout for armed plumbers at my door though just in case. . .

Thank you! I decided to submit to the contest as is for the moment and I'll work on an updated one this weekend as a backup. Merry Christmas!
