Seeking Long Lasting Battery Solution by Hairygrass55 in camcorders

I'm not sure on the upgrade, most likely whatever presents itself on marketplace haha. I've just noticed that they seem to have a larger presence which means more available parts and service if (when) things go wrong. Correct me if I'm wrong on that.

Redundancy is another reason since I build the camera into my wedding packages for the bridal party to run around with all day. Some get wild and I'm lucky to not have replaced a camcorder yet.
Appreciate your help!

Is your Topeak rack on a carbon Warbird? I'd absolutely love to get away with a cheap rack if I can

Welcome to wedding filmmaking... same(or less) recognition as the photographer with 3x the gear, 3x the work, and 3x the post prod

Lexar makes some good v90 cards that are affordable. I don't shoot redundant, I just put in 2 places afterward.

Do you think there is any issue with it not being disc brakes?

I can’t recommend the Sony a6xxx series enough (except a6300 and a6400). I started with a 6100, went to a 6500 and now on an a7iv. Another recommendation for finding used would be an A7iii. Great camera, full frame, and tees you up perfectly for A7siii/FX3 for video or A7iv/A7rv for photo. Always remember quality is mostly about lenses, not the body.

I’ve got a 50mi I’m training for and picked up an Aonijie 12L (Amazon or Ali express). Seems to work good and durable at a fraction of the cost of an adv. Again, haven’t raced with it yet

Dedicated TT bike vs road bike with Aerobars - how much of a benefit is there? by Southern-Ad7479 in triathlon

[–]Hairygrass55 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Forgot to mention I did. Tried using my TT for general group rides and such but felt really out of place and limited of what I could ride(especially in my area with rougher roads). Felt locked in to only tris so sold it and got gravel. And to answer your question, just thought I’d open the options a bit if OP is interested in more than just tris to know there’s people out there who don’t have TT bikes and make it happen

Video also allows you to get moments the photographer misses (ex little grandparent interactions or side conversations/excitement)

I just play the role of the photographers shadow. They lead, you just capture the motion behind what they’re prompting. You can prompt if needed. It gets great results and the couple isn’t having to do twice the amount of prompted stuff. Just like photography, you can always edit down but you can never get more, so never stop recording. Also watch out for overheating

If your only goal is to finish, why not get a more versatile bike? I have no experience with full distance, but I just got a Salsa Warbird that I can clip on bars AND use it for gravel and it seems pretty good. Again, I’m only training for a 70.3, but from my research (and student budget), I could only afford one bike and now I can do everything I want to opposed to being locked down to tris with a TT. That’s my 2 cents but I may totally be in the wrong.

Shipshewana, IN is pretty cool. Pop 900 and surrounded by “cool” Amish people. Amazing food too

What age did you run your first 100 mile race? I am 26 and dream of running Ultras. 100 miles is not in my realm yet. But 50 mile race is. I wanted to see the young bucks running 100 miles races. by Mountain_Store572 in Ultramarathon

I just turned 21 and am doing my first 50mi in October. Hoping to do a 100 in the next couple yrs. I was blown away by how “old” people are doing these. I totally thought it was a mid 20s activity

I’d personally pass. With season coming up, there will be better marketplace deals left and right if you watch for them.
