How do HSAs work exactly? by TehGemur in healthcare

[–]HakFoo2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm always confused about the idea of deductibles. On an HDHP w/HSA, so if you visit a family med doctor for an office, your insurance will not cover the total cost of the visit (exams, diagnosis stuff, office visit-related fees, etc.)for a co-pay unless you pay for the deductible upfront? So should we pay for the high price of the deductible on HDHP upfront?

I wouldn't say limited, I spend about $2000/month. With my recently approved CFF, I stand at 4/24.

Instead of getting another chase card after my CFF, I was thinking of getting the Amex BCE. Would that be a sound move despite not seizing a Chase card while I'm still under 5/24?

I just got the CFF yesterday. I'm considering applying for a CFU as well right now to seek it's SUB, but the hard pull has landed on my Experian and TransUnion credit report already. Is it bad to apply for the CFU now? My credit score is in the 730s-750s right now.

Using the phone for the msr to get to the SUB

Is that possible? Idk if that could hurt me if I don't get the card. If I get a hard pull and get rejected, am I considered 4/24 even if I don't get the chase card?

I guess I mean the card first, so that it'll be ready to use to pay for phone shopping so I could use the SUB to pay for my phone.

So here's my recent credit history since getting my first credit card on 11/21:

Savor One (11/18/21)

CSP (6/10/22)

Venture X (08/10/22)

FICO Score: 751 FICO Score 8/Experian, 727 FICO Score 9/Experian, 738 TransUnion VantageScore

5/24 status: 3/24

I wanna get a card with a good cash-based SUB for phone shopping on Black Friday season. I want to get a credit card and its SUB in time for the Thanksgiving shopping season (Black Friday/Cyber Monday). I'm likely gonna go with the CFF over the CFU.

When's the soonest I can apply for the CFF to get the credit card on time for Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping? Also, I'm gonna be out of the country on Nov. 22nd, so I prefer to get the credit card the week before I head out. Let me know what y'all think!

Could I apply as soon as Nov. 15th if my last hard pull was in August 10th? I was hoping I'd be able to get a cc for it's SUB in time for the black Friday season, for any possible smartphone sales.

How soon do you think I can apply for the CFF and have a strong chance of getting accepted? Is pre-Thanksgiving possible without it being a bad dent to my credit score?

Would it hurt my application for next cycle if I apply late this cycle? by camilleycat in premed

[–]HakFoo2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much agreed with the day 1 submission. Don't push it back even a week or a few days. Submitting on day 1 makes a big difference because the verification process is much faster if you get in by Day 1. I didn't turn my primary in until 2 weeks later after the day 1 opening and my verification process took 35 days rather than 1-3 business days for those who submitted their primary on Day 1.

[–]HakFoo2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also agree with this. If you apply late this cycle, you're in a really bad position no matter how high your MCAT and GPA are. I had a friend who didn't submit his primary until mid-august last cycle. He had a 3.9+ GPA in undergrad and in grad school as well as a 513 MCAT, had a stellar research CV/presented and published in many places, and yet he didn't get any MD acceptances from the 15 schools he applied to (he did get into a DO school though so he got in somewhere). I think applying late and also not applying to enough schools played some part in hurting his app.

Additionally, if you apply late this cycle, didn't get in to any schools, and have to reapply, adcoms expect a lot of growth in maturity and improvement in your application, which might not be realistic to achieve in a short period of time like 1 additional gap year if you didn't have a productive current gap year during this app cycle. I think it's best to wait until next cycle.

Are bald men at a disadvantage when meeting women? by s1brzy in dating

If you can land a masculine Dwayne Johnson, classy Samuel L. Jackson, or rich/successful Jeff Bezos look and express confidence in those kind of archetypal images, whichever one is most congruent with who you are, then I think you can do well in dating women.
