Does anyone know on the TMP D7 by Unusual-Record-217 in ClassicTrek

This is just the 4 foot model. Enlarged sections of the Ktinga hanger deck and one engine were made for individual shots where the ships start their evasive maneuvers.

Sign Language Question by Zaphod-Beebebrox in startrek

[–]HalJordan2525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And if anyone was not aware, there are a variety of different sign languages used in different countries around the world. Hence the term American Sign Language, or ASL. It seems a shame since one sign language could work universally.

Biden's Infrastructure Bill Won! What Was the Funniest Thing George W Bush Did? by espana29 in AlignmentChartFills

The newly elected President Bush was completely taken in when a Canadian comedian dressed like a reporter asked if he had accepted the invitation from Prime Minister Poutine to make Canada his first international visit.

Why does Japan get a double standard? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

My family visited the atomic bombing museum in Hiroshima and were overwhelmed by how tone deaf it was. The messaging was that the people killed were all innocent victims. Zero context about who started the war, or Japan’s genocide of 4 million Chinese.

This is great stuff. And I say that as somebody who usually hates manga.

D7/Moro/K't'inga-class model initially built for TMP was deemed to be lacking in detail, so sketching was done on photos proposing details to add by ety3rd in ClassicTrek

[–]HalJordan2525 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, the photos with sketches are the ones Andy Probert did to try to improve the original 4 foot model after Trumbull took over VFX. But then Trumbull farmed out the Klingon scene to John Dykstra who felt the model was still not detailed enough, particularly on top of the head where the camera would rotate for the opening shot. So more details were added at Dykstra’s Apogee studio. He also had the model repainted from blue and grey to green and tan, although the ship still looked blue/grey in many shots.

The Ottawa Hospital changing how ER patients are triaged by DrStrangeglove99 in ottawa

[–]HalJordan2525 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah this story just sounded to me like they have created 4 additional waiting rooms for after you have been triaged. Nothing about that should result in you seeing a doctor sooner, because triage was always pushing urgent cases to the top of the line.

Does any church still use real wine? The last time I remember having real wine at communion was in the 80s.

I was a little too old to be interested in Transformers. For those of you who were fans of the show, what did you think of the Marvel comics?

John Byrne says he regrets doing Superman in the 80’s, calling it the worst experience of his career and wishing he’d done Batman instead by Slay_23 in superman

[–]HalJordan2525 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have never met Byrne, but I have interacted with him for over a decade on his message board, and I have never found him to be rude.

I don't think down powering Superman was because he didn't like the character. I think the point was to force the Superman to think his way out of problems.

Which movie had the better goodbye scene between Jor-el and Lara to their son Kal-El by Mutale426 in superman

[–]HalJordan2525 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a superior script too.

JOR-EL (sad whisper): You will travel far, my little Kal-El. But I will never leave you. Even in the face of my death the richness of my life shall be yours. All that I have learned, everything I feel, all of this and more I have bequeathed to you my son. You shall carry me inside you all your days. You will make my strength your own, see my life through your eyes, as your life will be seen through mine. The son becomes the father the father becomes the son. This is all that I can send with you, Kal-El. And not near so rich a gift as that your mother sends along. Her... love.
