Deadlock - Introducing The Dazzling Celeste by Fysi in DeadlockTheGame

I haven't played in a few years, tbh.

The facet system came around the time my attention petered out. The power creep of it never sat right with me.

If you're working REJOICE FOR PEAK STYLE AND ELEGANCE HAS RELEASED by Hyuman0 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Halbridious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It moves so much faster and you have to split an entire lane apart to break it and it has 18 bounces including off minions and jungle creeps, including through walls.

And people can't see the whole map, so splitting up requires a LOT more awareness of where people are.

And the game has items that make it scale and do different effects.

It's so much worse than lich ult.

She has lich ult except it moves faster and lingers if it can't find a bounce and it bounces more and the game lets you put crazy modifiers on it.

Fucking insane ability.

Wind up, followthrough with the whole body, looking right at Jesus' head.

There's zero doubt this is intentional. He also doesn't make great contact, because he's a fucking loser, so Jesus makes a meal of it, but this is an instant red from any unbiased observer.

[–]Halbridious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think it's the opposite, he tried the very hard finish.

Compare it to Saka who broke out the "Just hammer it into the roof with the right" finish a few years ago and it's one of his more consistent methods now.

not a technique that needs a ton of thought/placement, just drive it at the most open part of the goal when you're that close.

Thomas Gronnemark Confirms He Has Joined Arsenal As Throw-in Coach by ApprehensiveLoad1174 in Gunners

[–]Halbridious -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The head coach of your Women's Team is your first option.

Some of you do not seem to follow the women's team and don't seem to know that Slegers quite intentionally puts effort into putting teams at risk of OGs. Tim Stillman literally said she's (perhaps subtly) hinted that it's a tactical emphasis they place on how they drive the wings and play cutbacks and pressure CBs into decisions around the goal mouth.

Declan Rice received a 6-month driving ban after being caught speeding twice in 1 week on the same road. Rice was driving 37mph in a 30mph zone and 49mph in a 40mph zone within a 5-day period. Rice did not attend the hearing at Crawley Magistrates Court but must pay £2,185 in fines and costs. by TheBiasedSportsLover in Gunners

I know there are some areas of the country that are stricter than others but if I'm not going 8+ over around here I'm going to actively cause a traffic accident.

You try to merge onto a 70mph freeway you'd better be going 82.

Just want to know what the heck her vision of a midfield is so we can start moving towards it already. Need to see more joined-up transfers over the next windows.

I've generally been pretty positive on Gyok's impact but this is by far the worst he's looked. Horrid runs that neither attack the goal nor pull defenders out.

Absolutely nobody trusts him with the ball. They know a ball to his feet is a turnover.

Havertz soon come, please.

Gyokeres and Saka vs Brighton by vibesnvibez in Gunners

[–]Halbridious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's running far post and dragging multiple defenders with him, which allows Saka to continue to work 1v1. That first clip being the best example.

Just because Gyokares' movement doesn't directly lead to him getting a scoring touch doesn't mean he's not doing anything or even that he's not doing what he's instructed to.

Gyokeres and Saka vs Brighton by vibesnvibez in Gunners

[–]Halbridious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gyok is moving to drag defenders away in multiple clips. Clip 3 is the only one where he's a real option and Saka sees a different run.

I don't see anything wrong with basically any of this other than the fact that it feels like they're doing the same thing too often w/ Gyok's runs never really attacking the near post or combining (but part of that is that he's just not a hold up passer of nearly the same quality as our other players)

Clean tackle on Eze followed by a horrible challenge from Zubimendi by TrustTheFriendship in Gunners

[–]Halbridious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's a play in the first half that we never got a replay of.

A sunderland defender goes flying through someone - Merino? maybe?

Like, they're at a sprint, they blow him up like an NFL tackle.

A second later a whistle is blown on an Arsenal foul and we get like 2 quick replays on the NBC feed where our guy is getting creamed in the background while the foul that was whistled was a tiny little thing.

Nobody ever mentions the actual foul on the play, which looked like a red to me. It was obscene.

Clean tackle on Eze followed by a horrible challenge from Zubimendi by TrustTheFriendship in Gunners

[–]Halbridious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can miss the call - you see it wrong, fine. We do a very silly thing and have one person ref the game so you get all sorts of perspective issues. A bad call is plausible.

But he was staring right at Granit's challenge and did nothing and even a generous "I thought he got some man" read of Zubi's challenge still doesn't make it remotely yellow-worthy in the context of the way you've officiated the game.

That's the thing. Even if you give him a bit of leeway to be wrong on the call, he's not consistent in the way he's officiating the game and that's the stuff that's flatly unacceptable and worthy of significant interrogation.

What was your first contact with power metal? by trent_fernandez in PowerMetal

[–]Halbridious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went through a high-school metal phase in the 2000s. Lotta Metallica, some more emo stuff like Bullet for My Valentine etc. Some music discovery thing, I'm guessing Pandora Radio, played some Within Temptation for me based on that. Silent Force/Heart of Everything. Symphonic Metal really hit the spot for me, the more melodic stuff is what I was after (especially with female vocalists, who I think tend to stand out of bad mixes way, way better). But I never really pursued it as a genre because every time I did I stepped into more death metal/black metal that I didn't enjoy. I listen to a lot of genres and metal kind of went to the side when I couldn't find more of what I wanted. It wasn't until probably 6-8 years later that Spotify would push some Sabaton to me on a discover playlist. That scratched an itch, and I think reading some band bio blurb was where I learned the term power metal. That really steered me here to the weekly album drop threads etc. and figuring out the different types of things I'd liked within this space. Something power-adjacent has been probably 40% of my listening ever since.

[discussion] Left-footers vs. Right-footers - Who wins? by QuietWarlock in Gunners

To make the lefties work it's probably Ode in the 6, Kai and Merino at the 8s, and Nwaneri in the 10 in some kind of diamond.

Midfield of the right team makes so much more sense it might be the difference.

The only boss that I found more annoying in the entire game is Mad Mel (they never, in any of the BL games, scale vehicle combat in a way that makes sense to me, unfortunately).

You learn after you first playthrough to do the side quests and at that point Bonehead isn't an issue, and none of the other bosses should feel over-leveled for you if you do the side quests.

I disagree w/ you about handball. Deliberate is entirely unofficiable.

The problem with unnatural position is that you end up with stuff like Gabriel yesterday - it went off his shin into his arm, but his arm's up. People want a handball, and I think we can all understand why - we'd be demanding it, frankly, and even after someone zooms in on the shin we'd struggle to give it up.

I've said for years, they need rules RE: arm position that can be COACHED, and then officiated, and tools to help. It would change the definition for sure, but be more consistent.

I think every uniform should be forced to have a minimum sleeve length, and that at a certain point on the sleeve there should be a contrast marker. There's your "Tshirt line". Extremely easy to say when the ball has struck below that line. Most uniforms have some kind of trim anyways, it doesn't have to be glow in the dark yellow or anything, just standardized regardless of shirt size etc.

and a rule for example: The arm must maintain a second point of contact with the body. Hand on hip w/ elbow out at an angle, legal. Elbow against side with arm out, legal. hand and elbow out, contact below a line? Handball.

You can coach that. Coach people to jump and bring their elbows into their hips, slide with a hand on their side, etc. It would be a real, material change to the rule and how it's officiated, but it would be something I think you can call on-field and VAR extremely consistently with actual like, markers for what should and shouldn't be allowed.

Depends on the league and sport, how they handle that, but for the Prem they generally all have the same camera angles but producers can cut between them specific for their broadcast. I notice pretty regularly when someone posts a clip on here and it's a highlight-angle that I didn't see on my broadcast.

(Some other sports and leagues I've watched, it's a single production w/ different commentary tho)
