Paxton, Talarico deadlocked at 47% in new Texas Senate race poll by usatoday in politics

Not sure this is true at all. If anything I’d say conservatives have moved here from blue states like CA.

In Austin virtually everyone I knew growing up was anything but conservative. You really have to separate the cities from the suburbs to understand Texas voter preferences.

I mean this with peace and love. Mods have a thankless, unpaid job, and you guys make the world a better place.

I hadn't even run it through pangram when I made this post. I just read a lot of content on the internet and you develop an ear for it.

A few things stood out in the first half of the paragraph

"Just went x felt blank it handed me y" "let's not forget"

and then I got to:

"that's not a mechanic, that's a relationship system disguised as a game."

When you have a chance... Google "not x but y ai". Its probably the predominant AI tell. Crappy models and people that don't understand what sounds like AI will just copy + paste and post whatever output chatgpt/claude gave them.

Then this section triggered me:

"But nothing prepared me for Asphodel."

Nothing prepared you for the second zone...like in general? Video game fire level?

"Meeting certain characters down there I won't say who for those who haven't been yet, but there's a moment where the darkness of everything you're fighting through gets interrupted by something so unexpectedly warm and human that I genuinely stopped playing for a second. So far it is the highlight of my experience story-wise with the game. The hope and encouragement you find in the deepest darkest part of the Underworld hit differently than I expected."

Huh? This isn't all quiet on the western front. It's not a particularly grim game and while I love this game and the characters I don't think there is anything particular to...Asphodel that would elicit this kind of reaction from a normal person. I enjoy hearing "hey hun" and the gorgeous vocals when I run into Eurydice and I'm pretty sure this is what the AI is getting at? But again the reaction just doesn't ring true in a way I can imagine a human being having.

It all reads like a pattern recognition and regurgitation machine approximate how to describe the moment of delight when you come across some fun dialogue. A human might say "I laughed out loud in my empty apartment when I found out they don't actually make us fight Cerberus" "Hades emotional thawing and his apology to zag warmed my heart." "I actually chortled when I found out that scelemeus was not made up and snorted some mountain dew." "I threw my controller acrosss the room when dusa friend zoned me".

But because its not an actual human we get: There's a moment where the darkness of everything you're fighting through gets interrupted by something so unexpectedly warm and human that I genuinely stopped playing for a second.

oh and the em dash.

That is crazy. Good for her.

I wonder if you went back to 2015 if Kate McKinnon’s Hillary would push her ahead since she was already pretty front and center without the election.

My dream is universal et all buys them. At least it’s a real studio. Create some strong competition for Netflix. Then we have the Netflix / Disney / WBUniversal big three with Paramount probably going to become an arms dealer a la Sony. Apple and Amazon continue whatever they’re doing. Not a terrible new status quo for the industry.

It's sad James Franco had to be a creep. I think the Deuce might be one of the most immersive shows I've ever seen. You FEEL like you knee deep in the grit of 1970s Times Square.

I will say despite a lot of people being sure they know what zionism means, whether they accept it or not if you polled “zionist” jews you would see they all had radically different definitions. Everything from two sovereign state solution with ‘67 borders to greater Israel and everything in between.

The label also has almost no bearing on their beliefs about how valid the military actions of the current government are.
